A friend of mine has been flying it for a few days, he's flying it on his laptop. His lappy is a new Dell Duo-core, and I think his video card has a 512 MB dedicated memory, not sure though.

He told me one of the coolest things in the G4 is the water that you can fly off of. The graphics are better than the G3.5, more realistic.

He reports it's the best sim he's ever flown.

It's pretty nice. I've been playing with it for a couple days now. It EATS computer performance though. The optimal requirements should be the minimal requirements. You do need at least a 2gb processor all though they say 1gb will do. You need a good graphics/video card(GeForce8500gt w/512mb for $130 works good. The GeForce8800gts should rock but its expensive) Other than that, the quality is good. Clear scenery, water quality is ok but I don't know what some people expect. I like it. If you don't nit pick it to death, you'll like it. The Pitts Python in add on 4 really shines on this. Pick a good photo field with a lake or pond and it's a blast dragging your tail in the water. This plane flies pretty true to the actual model. It's a 3D king. You have to try it on a good computer to enjoy it. Even better on a big plasma tv. Almost like being at the field, only there is no one around to rag on you everytime you hit the dirt. I think all in all, most folks will like this version as long as they don't expect to be much more than G3.5. There's not too many changes.

Does anyone else get an unknown error at random times after starting the simulator? It has to close after this error.

I've had G4 for a few weeks and like it a lot. The physics feel much more real than G3.5 or FSOne and I own both. This is the best RC simulator I have ever used.
