Default Statement from the new owner of SD Models

Quote:

OK - OK I think most of these last comments are fair. Whoever said that "whoever the inporter is, they are at the mercy of the factory" - you are very correct. The problem is that Red China won't let an American buy one of these factories outright. So we are dependent on a Chinese owner. Some of them are very nice, but don't understand a free-market economy, production schedules, nor warranty issues.

Having said that, Troybuilt was working very hard to build up an inventory of spare parts. The planes were selling so well that we were often torn about how much room to leave in a container for spare parts when guys were pressuring us for planes that hadn't shipped yet. We were hopeful that within another 8 months we would catch up and have plenty of spare parts. Since we offer 10 different color schemes in some models, you can imagine how many spare parts you have to stock.

Anyway, if TT lives up to what they are telling me, they will add more workers and maybe we will be able to keep up.

By the way, none of this would be an issue if there wern't so many modelers that demanded ARFs and RTFs.
Lee
Regarding the # 37 message from Mr. Lee, here is my response.

I, as the new owner of SD Models, have already assigned my team to start to reorganize the sales and pricing and to establish a comprehensive quality system. I believe that all spare parts of TOC aircrafts will be continued the supply to the market in soon future.

I know that many modelers are concerned with the quality and supply of the spare parts. I would like to reassure you all that ACE Hobby will be responsible for all product lines and after services which were provided by SD Models. And at the same time, Thunder Tiger will endeavously assist ACE Hobby for the best TOC aircraft's global system and improvement works.

I totally disagree with Mr. Lee's point in your first paragraph regarding the "Red China". I don't think that you know China well. Otherwise, you won't leave SD Models to get into today's situation and to be sold to the 3rd party for survival.

Business is business. Please leave the national issue out. Chineses have tried so hard to improve themselves and their hard works are obvious. Of course, there are many good experiences we can learn from Americans. But Thunder Tiger and I will work hard for the better achievements.

Best regards to you all!

Best wishes to Rocky!

Dear Mr. Mark William and all old friends,

I was glad to see you at the Tokyo Show, Mark. After returned to Taiwan, I've been busy with TOC Airplane Factory. I hope that I can turn this TOC airplane production into one of the successful department of Thunder Tiger. I have already appointed 3 experts to join the team for design and quality control to make my wish comes true any day sooner.

On October 27 and 28, Thunder Tiger held a Fun Fly Event again at the former Taichung Airport in Taiwan. It was the 4th year. This airport was stopped using since 3 years ago. From that time, it is only opened once a year for Thunder Tiger's Fun Fly Event. Each year the numbers of visitors have grown. In this year, the visitors were over 80,000.

During these 2 days event, I arranged several fly shows. I also provided 30,000 small airplanes for kids as a gift. At the show, visitors can also experience the R/C fun. This Fun Fly Show has become one of the most important events for the citizens in Taichung.

I've attached some photos of the event to share my happiness. You can see my wife, Tracy, and my grandson in the photo.

Many people may be aware that I produce the hobby products, but they don't know I am also a modeler for 40 years. I am willing and happy to share my R/C fun and fly fun to everyone.

Keep in touch.

Looks like a very large Show, great job Aling.

The picture of this gentlemen shows a Rolex Daytona, Stainless Steel, with White Face, it's as rare as a pink diamond. You could build a couple 40% r's for the cost of that watch !

Looks like a great event. In the group pic, what is the red plane standing on its nose?
