It's finally in the UPS truck & should show up this coming Tuesday (3/7.) Life is good - this will be my first "real" gasser and the first one that can do all the stuff. They scared the heck out of me with the wrong tracking number that was showing something headed to Viscilla, CA. Nothing less fun than thinking Santa's sleigh is headed to the wrong house!
I'm going to be taking my time putting it together.... mainly because I'm in line for one of the BME 55's that are suppose to be out in late April (anyone got new info on the release date???) I'll probably be on here asking questions on all sorts of things. I know the wait for that motor is going to kill me when the plane is ready to fly... except for that big hole were the motor should be. I can't wait - this is going to be so much fun!!!! I gotta ask - is that avatar picture for real? I mean was there a person that built up that went into photoshop? It looks like some crazy building to make that.

You'll like your Edge...I've got 2, one of the Gen I Edges with an MVVS 58, and one of the Gen II Edges with a MVVS 45 and canister exhaust. The 45 works well on this airplane. I'd say that even if I wasn't a MVVS dealer!

I should be able to do a build thread on this one. Just need to learn how to attach images (which should be easy.) I'm really stoked about getting the plane going. My collection of planes are aerobatic, but not very precise. I've got several of my own design low wing planes, but they roll really bad in knife edge. This should be really neat having a quality plane & see how much easier things are.
Love the picture - I did see it in your other post & got a smile. How does it like to torque roll? Thanks Terry |

Oh boy - it's here! There was a dent/cut in both sides of the wing box, but there is a second box under that, so all is well

There's really not too much to assemble on it. I've put the gear on, there's the hinges to glue and the control horns to install. Put on the canopy, glue the firewall in & locate the cowl. That's pretty much the main assembly other than std radio, engine & tank install. Waiting for the BME 55 is what's going to kill me. I could be flying it this weekend, but the 55 looks good enough to wait for.
I'm taking pictures, so I should be able to do a build thread too. |

Did you get the BME Edge III? How much was it to ship to you? I am interested in the Edge III or the Yak II. Good Luck with yours! I will be looking forward on what you think of it!

Here's the link to the build thread: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=2661
Shipping was $67 to Iowa - not too bad I guess. It was two big boxes. I stripped off the rainbows & changed the swipes to blue & like it a lot better! The kit is well done. There were a few glue joints that needed more glue, but overall it's a great ARF. It seems like you could be flying it in a very short time from opening the box. Even the canopy was easy. The wing bags, stab & fuse bags are a nice addition too. The combing around the bag opening wants to catch in the velcro a bit, but it will keep the plane nice. Terry |

Thanks go to "JoeAirPort" for the idea on this one. I saw his & liked it alot. Someone did it in chrome, which looked pretty good too - but the midnight blue Ultracote just looks like it fits right.
