Default NEW T-REX 500

Ok, I couldn't leave my Flying Giants crew out of the loop. Align is getting to release the latest addition to their heli family. The T-REX 500!!

We are so excited about this machine! It is what may be the perfect size, it is big enough to easily see and be incredibly stable. Yet, small enough to still fly in your backyard or local park.

Jason Krause and Alan Szabo are working very hard and long days at the moment to finalize all the testing. The pictures you see are prototypes and are subject to change, but I can tell you that we expect the following:

425-450mm Blades
4S-6S Lipo
mini servos

Have Fun!

When I close my eyes at night, this is now what I see.

I LOVE the way those canopies look.

Just picked up a Trex 500 ESP. Can anyone give me a good setup for the first time heli pilot? Also, what spare parts are a good idea to keep around? ;and what should I upgrade to metal? Thanks.

I just fired up my 500esp tonight for the first time. Had it pinned to the floor. LOL! I'm a total noob and have been bitten! Suddenly there are 7 helis in my hanger! The next biggest is a B400 which I have gotten pretty good with in hovering. Still need a LOT more time on it though. The esp from what I hear should be even easier, although more expensive if (in the rc world, if = when) I mess up.

Anyway, near the back of the manual, at least for the esp there are three setups for various flight modes. To me, they look like a great place to start. I'm thinking the normal mode will work for me for some time.

I'm running a pair of 3s2200 20C batteries and a 12 tooth pinion. Seems like plenty in my brief on the ground test. The cool thing is I have a bunch of these bats as it seems every electric plane I buy uses these. It sure is nice to share power between models!

I would like to try a pair of 2500s perhaps in the future. I don't think I'll need them any time soon.

I can't really help on spare parts yet... For me, I fear it might be another complete kit!
