ATL Huckfest Photo Wrapup. Thanks Friends!

Another FlyingGiants Huckfest is in the books, and the Extreme Flight Atlanta show will go down in the books as a complete blowout! With well over 100 pilots in attendance and countless spectators, what went on this past weekend was something magic. Friends from all over the nation convened Cummings at the world famous GMARC flying field for an event like no other. It was tough the entire weekend to find someone who was not a FG member, and the reflection of the personalities is exactly what you would expect! A non-stop belly laughing' good time for 3 days straight! ...and not an OUNCE of drama.

This event was a gathering of friends, and a celebration of all the good times this hobby brings to us. Aside from some of the most amazing flying I've ever seen, the pilotry and model airplanes was a sideshow to all the action here in Atlanta. And on a personal note, I've been entrenched in this hobby, and the online space for years now, and never have I been so proud to be a part of the community that you guys built. I also want to send out a heart felt THANKS! to Chris Hinson, The Extreme Flight Crew, and GMARC for letting us run amok this past weekend, and everyone who helped turn this event into a reality. You guys are an excellent crowd, and I'm stoked to call you all friends.

With the third stop on this year's Huckfest series complete, we're happy to announce that we'll be back in Atlanta next year. Up next: Houston.

This doesn't have anything about the event however, I just wanted to write a short note about the field, club and members/officers having the Huck event! The president Stan Erwin I know pretty well these days since I try to fly there every time I go down South to visit family over the years! Just mention the dude from Connecticut and he will know! LOL!

What a nice field! I was lucky that my mom-n-law, brother and nieces lives close down younder.

It is right off GA 400 and Old Federal road. I have flown there many times in the past. I went when they first got the field before they had anything there in the summer of 2004. The last time I was there in March of 2006. I went down for my daughters wedding in Alabama and we stayed at my Mom-n-laws house and my brothers house who all live in Atlanta. I always try to take a plane with me. A guy named Stan Erwin is the president and has always been president since the field opened years ago. What a super guy!

They were so nice to me over the years and let me fly every time I come to visit! They answer e-mail fast and just very nice. Just a bunch of cool dudes!

They are always glad to have visitors come and fly!

Attached is a picture that was taken of me the last time I was there almost 2 years ago. If you are ever down there be sure to check out the club. A bunch of nice fellows and have flying on their minds! Also a good bunch of dudes you may want to check out on the way down; Winder Hobby shop in Winder coming into Atlanta from 85. Stop in and they will treat you right!
