Default Spektrum Opinion

Well I bought a reciever from Spektrum the standard one like the 7000 or which ever, anyway it's kinda slow when it comes to picking up my radio, sometimes. It might do it once a weekend or more or not at all. I'm thinking about sending back but just want some opinions. And just FYI I have tried resetting the info in the radio and rebinding it.

Make sure you give the TX time to boot up before hitting the power on the receiver. This happens sometimes, but isnt an issue. If it doesnt connect on the first shot, turn everything off and turn it back on.

Consider yourself lucky. I am having problems getting mine to link up at all. The system will work fine one day, then the next day, it won't link up or bind, period - not even after a minute of turning the transmitter on, either during normal power up or during the bind process. And I am familiar with signal swamping and tx boot-up times. This was out in the open - no signal reflection junk or whatever. Then, an hour later, in the same location, it will work just fine. To me, this is a serious problem.
What you are experiencing is normal link-up lag, which can take several seconds, but shouldn't take more than five or so.

It'll work but if it doesn't, then I have to let it sit for a little while.

Darn, this is not helping my decision on switching.

Switch. Dude, I have 2 planes running it from gas to glow and I've had it with electric. The only radio I'll ever need again. My other reciever works fine and I don't get any glitching in flight so that's good. It just doesn't connect on the ground.

I had the same experience with a Friends DX7 we never did get it to link. Tried everything suggested on bodyworks other thread. The receiver had several flights before this. We ended up changing out the receivers. This isn't the first receiver i have seen not respond. Reliability seams to be in question

I have 3 planes 1 gasser, 1 glow, 1 electric foamy, and an electric heli all on 2.4 now and have had the usual delay on boot up but not even the first sign of glitch or any other problems, I love this new link it is far better connected than with my JR spcm link I was using, my gasser went through all kinds of twitches gliches and failsafe, finally I got it to just a slight glitch every once in a while but never was I convinced that it would not return to haunt me. So far I am very happy with my decision to switch and will forever be on edge about staying connected. Hopefully all this new equiptment will all get sorted and everyone will be able to enjoy it ... I think the pros definately beat the cons without a doubt I would not go back to 72mhz.

Yeah, well luckly it's pretty much the end of the season here in north Texas so I think I'll just send it back. I hope everyone else gets there problems fixed. I'm just glad I'm not the only one having this problem.
