Well guys, I got the decals all in and I'm still waiting on my Dl-50 decal. When getting the prop on one of the threads of the prop hub got stripped... I didn't use extreme force, just normal, but it stripped... well I got the prop hub out and I'm going to re-tap to a size bigger or buy a new one. I used a gear puller to remove the prop hub and after having a new part or a fixed one I need to put those parts back together. My advise with all of this is... be carefull because that soft aluminum might break.

Here's some pics...

Hey guys, here's some pics with the new stickers... I got it up in the air yesterday with the help of my friend Dan while tunning the engine and this Katana flies great. It was super windy and the model just behaves great. As I usually say "The pilot sucks, the model does the work..."

In one of the pics there's my friend Jim helping me out to start that Dl-50cc...

Thanks Scott and 3DHS

She flew awesome the other day buddy. I'm glad to see it back in the air. That wind was great .
You were pretty stoked about how well she flew and that it was back in the air. Good job buddy. You Rock!!

Ok guys... it happened yesterday. After almost a year of flying it this model is gone. All evidences lead to another radio on 72MHZ on Ch 38 being turned on at the field, but no proof of that. Even if so what could I do???? 500 -600 ft high getting ready for a high alpha KE and I just saw it come down straight down... sad... very sad...

Airframe is completely gone, DL will survive after cleaning, smart-fly setup will have to go somewhere for verification (a couple of plugs broken and loose optical ignition), servos all good except throttle servo that "exploded". Ignition A123 lead was cut and on the way home started to smoke... Receiver Li-Po's were fine and with 8.2v charge still.

Thanks for all your help and support on this forum regarding this model. This model will always have a special meaning for me.

I was really bummed to see the loss of your plane. It was fun watching you do the low knife edge passes.

Antonio, sorry to see that buddy. I can't believe that someone might have turned on a radio.
It makes you feel sick. I think that you will eventually have to switch to 2.4. Hopefully we can get your Yak in the air soon. I'm working on it.

well after 3 years the katana meet its demize at the 3DHS low fly in. motor failure over the trees nothing i could do.

ben mentioned that he gets alot of PMs from fellow katana owners needing repair parts so i thought id offer some up. shoot me a PM with what ya need and an offer. ive got other tid bits too, landing gear etc.

wings:
the driverside wing is PERFECT not so much as a scratch. the passenger side wing is perfect other than the front tip was crushed. its all outside of the last rib and would be an easy fix.

rear horiz stab and elevators:
both are absolutly perfect.

rudder:
rudder is perfect other than a tear on the drivers side. it did NOT go threw the other side. is perfect otherwise. a tree branch just tore the monocoat.
EDIT: rudder taken (Ben)

cowl:
the cowl is in fair shape. could use a few dabs of blue paint but is in fair shape.

lemme know if i can help get someone back in the air

I lost my Katana due to a dead stick with a DL but it wasn't too bad. I'm repairing it but would like to know if anyone has an ol fuse that they would like to part with. I love the plane and wish Ben would resurrect that lil plane..... Please let me know.
Thanks
