still waiting.
I will not order anything else for this plane until mid next month. most of the ordering will go on in Jan. I already have a 5" spinner that I need to send to Tru-Turn to have the slots cut bigger than what it came with, I had to modify the slots for it to accept a 26x10 prop. yes yes yes I balanced the spinner after the mod. |

My 40% 260 is now in the alingment stage and should leave on the boat from Thailand and should be in the States at the end of Jan.
Should give me just enough time te get the components ready and waiting for a fast build. |

you have to custom order the plane in this color scheme.
it cost me 2750 to get it in this scheme and here is a picture of the engine |

I have on the way 4 futaba 9156 servos, not sure where they will go but I have made up my mind about the 3 or 4 servos for the rudder and I think I will go with 4 on the rudder and 3 per aileron.
I also have the 5in Dubro tread lite wheels,50oz fuel tank and a 32oz smoke tank, tried to get a extra extra long tail wheel but they are out and are not due to recieve any till mid this month.Ray told me that the plane will leave Thailand on the 3rd. I finally have the bathroom renovation done and have the hobby room back for my planes. It will suck if I cannot get this plane out of the hobby room when it is finished. Someone said Comp-Arfs are expensive... Huh???
When you consider that the wooden planes wear out, the Comp-Arf airframe will last a lot longer as long as you don't stack it in prematurely! Dollars per flight... the comp-arf is half the price! (I have 225 twelve minute flights on mine and ALL the dingage has been from my own ten thumbs moving it around or dropping things on it) |

I was told that going with the 3 servos per aileron, the snaps would be cleaner and a little more crisp.and I really want the rudder to be commanding.
I notice that so far all the pictures are shown with the tuned pipes...Anyone running the cans on theirs? Since last month was kinda slow, things may slow down until mid feb.but at least this months work is looking better so far. the good paydays only come with the bonus check, that is if the work is satisfactory, but thats the nature of the beast in the oilfield. Watching others build their birds sure makes me biff for mine, however it givs me ideas for my build Last edited by eagle1; 01-05-2008 at 09:06 PM. |
