No I didn't. I've been exchanging emails with their Club President. All he knows right now is that they're going to have one and that Doug will be the CD. I'll send them a note asking them to please pick a different date.

So, I've promised myself that this is the year I'm going to get my butt out of the shop and go to the boot camp. Looking forward to meeting some people.

Fantastic article Rick. I enjoyed reading and learning about the direct drive system and how simple and serviceable it is. How can I put it in a cmp arf? ha ha

When do you think the minimac site will be updated so we can pre-register for all the contests we plan to attend. I did register for the judging / flying school and will se you there. I hope t oget more out of it this year as last year I was a newbie. I should be able to understand better now.

Keep up the good work for the South Central and see you soon.

Gary, I'm going to start updating the pre-register site as soon as I can. I'm waiting on some more of the contest to confirm also.

Thanks for the comments on the article. I bet we can get into a comp arf.

Been watching the weather for some of you guys in the northern areas of the region and see news about lost power and ice everywhere. I would be lost in that stuff. It looks terrible.

I wish all of you and you families safe and joyous Christmas.

Hey Rick, hopefully the new IMAC website will be operational by 1Jan. It should have pre-registration contained within, right? If not we should have it put in.

And, yes, your article was great! That was the first time I actually saw how the system works even after looking a John's plane several times!!

That is one of the reason I haven't updated the Pre-registration yet. I'm waiting on the new site.

I lost power for two days. We got power back yesterday around 4pm. If it lasted much longer I thought I might have to go south. LOL

Yea its been pretty bad. i did a little driving through the older parts of the the city today near down town. Still large swaths are out of power. We lost power at work for 2 days. One of the people here is on day #3 without power at his place. Could be a few days yet before everything is restored. Trees are down all over the place.

The last time we had an ice storm here in MS our power was off for only 3 days - it was cold. What was worse was when Katrina went through. The power was off for 7 days and it was HOT. If any of you have ever been in MS in late August you'd know what I mean!! You can always put on more clothes to stay warm but you can only take off so much in the heat to stary cool!!

Good luck Andy, Dan and all you other guys in the ice area. Stay warm and hope for the power to come back on soon.

I missed the whole thing! I went to California before it hit and got back today. the only problem I had was knocked the 1/2 inch of ice off my Suburban at the airport. People in San Francisco were complaining about the cold. The highs were in the mid 50's.
