Default The nationals are just around the corner!!

An anything and everything thread related to the Nationals.. Inititally I wasn't going to go, but I remembered how much of a good time it was last year, and that alone is worth the travelling even without entering any events. I just booked my ferry tickets and will be arriving the 27th..

Edit: as an afterthought.. How about a bit of North-South rivalry in the form of a boat race??

Did I hear Boat race !

You are on son .... last time the North Island squared off against the South Island, it was at the Dunedin nats ... yeah that was the nats when the Chch guys all decided it was "too far away". Anyway, back to the race results, I am happy to report that Granny and I were victorious on that occasion against such talented drinkers as Moped and One Can John !

Good to see you have booked your boat ride Sarge.

I am about to start building a Kiwi F3P for the Indoor Event, thought it best to support "NZ Made" ay.

Which brings on to the big annoucement ..... this years Indoor Event at the nats is the "RC Bandit Indoor Shootout" .... wa wa woo ... very nice.

The format / rules etc will be along the lines of last year, however we have amp'd it up a notch. Full write up is about to go in the mail in the latest issue of NZRCAA Aerobatics News.

Happy Times

Phwoar.. sounds official!..

On the note of the Kiwi F3P, Chances are I won't be flying one this year, I've gone a rather different route, which will be unveiled at the nats. I believe it's more down the alley of most kiwi indoor flyers and their ability to um... test the impact resistance of depron models. Probably won't win any F3P competitions, however expect flight accuracy to be better than a frakar but not as good as the Kiwi F3P or anything made in Europe (Damn those guys are GOOD!)

Just got to build the damn thing now.

Note: I am VERY VERY VERY willing to sell out to ANYONE who will support me and my designs through any way they want (Free stuff.. beer.. women ect) .. I'll be your BEST advertisement EVER!

Browney and Ted over a few rums wrote up the format for this years Indoor Aerobatics event, The RC Bandit Indoor Shootout. It went out in the NZRCAA Mag last week, so you guys should have a copy buy now.

I'll paste the article up here when I get a chance.

Hyperion Foamys Racers are the rage up here at the moment. All EPP and sure to be a laugh in the oval at the Nats, we're already thinking about some sort of Red Bull type of racing event with Noodles for the gates, stand up on a ladder to get a birds eye view of the course.

Honestly? I have to wonder how good these guys can be.. I mean Frazer DID lose to a bunch of yanks drinking Bud light aka Raspberry Cordial in 2006 - I bet it was at room temperature too.

Looks like i may have to finish my Indoor models AT the Nats haha I never thought I'd say this but I wish the Nats were further away so I had more time to prepare lol

So how is everyone else's preparation going? No crashes or damage to models while practicing? Any new models in the hanger to be shown off?
