Either one, take your pick. I have built several Cardens and I own a Dalton, little different construction, both fly awesome.

I've personally built all of them. Carden, Dalton, Aerotech, Godfrey, etc. They are all good, they'll all make you pull some hair out from time to time as well. The Carden is a fine aircraft IF it is built well. There is a lot more oppurtinity for a less experienced builder to seriously screw up. The jig tab type construction of the others are much easier to get things right.

They all fly really well.

Thank You.
Not to get into war here with you T-bob, but I do recall a time when Tony didnt have a full time job with DA and every plane he built (Dalton whatever) sold for insane money! 5K or better. All he had to do is finish one and show at an IMAC contest and it was sold!!!!! What up with that! They cant be all that bad! You should try puttin down the beer and build one or fly one before being so bold!

If theres anything you need now for your plane please let me know.
No problem, it's over now, and i have a great flying plane. I just expected a little more than i got.

(get em' nelon! LOL)

as i stated earlier i haven't any experience with the cardens. i sure like to watch them fly and they seem to be tremendous airplanes. i have, however, recently received the best possible customer service from tony russo and ALL of team dalton! i picked up my mel300 from competition airframes at the nall and every last team dalton member was right over to me extending a welcome and congratulations. even after mattymatt had the terribly unfortunate lock out with his plane, he helped me out with radio questions and even maidened a plane for one of my buddy's. trust me guys TEAM DALTON is well represented and i think that the support group that comes with a plane is a HUGE part of which plane to choose. again, i have nothing negative to say about the cardens, that is not my point. i just thought it necessary to share publicly my great experiences with the daltons! just my $.02!

It's a sweet looking plane now, but the kit did not fullfill my expectations. Maybe I got a bad kit, because i'm not a hot shot pilot. All in all, I am very disappointed.

Nick,

This post has been bugging me since I read it the first time, and now I know why. Things do not add up.

http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...tra-260-a.html

In this thread, I asked if you built the plane. In post five you said no, that you had a professional builder do it. Did that person ever contact Tony? Were they local to Maryland? Are all of the "dissapointments" yours or things the professional builder said?

He gladly offered to do it and brought it back the next day free of charge after I insisted tons. Thanks again tony for that gesture.
I agree Tony gives good service, but do you have a Carden, have you ever called Dennis and just asked some questions about his kits?? Dennis ALSO gives excellent customer service. He makes sure his customer is very happy when you get and fly your airplane. He loves to hear from his customers about his product. He goes to Joe Nall just to visit with all his customers. For those that were there I'm sure you saw him and Caroline everywhere talking with all their customers, weather it was the everyday flier or Mike Mc. I'm not here to say Carden is better than Dalton, I did get a chance to fly a Dalton at Joe Nall and I was impressed on how well it flew. Its a great flying plane. I just prefer Cardens. Its like you might prefer to drink Bud Light and the person next to you will like Miller Light.

Personally, I have been doing some homework on what i intend to build this coming winter, Dennis and Caroline at Carden are both awesome people, and really take the time to talk about their product. Now i have no experience to compare the 2 kits, but i have (briefly) owned a Carden and Loved the looks/lines. I think it is just a matter of preference really..... apples/oranges.
I got to say tho, when i was inquireing about a Dalton a week or 2 ago, Tony e-mailed back responces to my questions in a matter of Hours. I that that was pretty cool. So i guess my point is, i do not think one would be disapointed in either, pick which one you like best an d run with it.....

Yes, I inspected the kit. Then the builder went over it, photo documentation etc. We went over every aspect of the plane, so I was pretty much there. No, I did not build the plane myself. The builder did not contact tony, this was my responsibility as the buyer. Either way I did not get any replies anyways. Again, i dont even care anymore, there are more important things than to moan and be pissed about what happend in the past. I was just stating, that I was not very please with the kit, and the customer service. Period.
