Default Recommendations for First 50cc Airplane

If I completely lose my mind and decide to get a 50cc airplane for 3D and fun flying, what do you experienced guys recommend. I fly pattern and like a nice smooth tracking airframe- would prefer minimal rudder-elevator and rudder-roll coupling but would also like to be able to flip flop around and hover so I want a good power to weight ratio. I'm thinking a DA50 for power, but other recommendations are welcome.

I don't want to go bigger than a 50cc because I don't want to have to get a trailer to haul my airplane to the field.

So what's hot?

George

I'm kinda biased because I have one but I've heard alot of good things about the Wildhare Sukhoi. Everyone says it will fly 3d and precision equally well. I've been very pleased with mine so far, I have only three flights of mostly trimming so I haven't really got to wring it out yet. You could also go with Tom's package with the 3mm 53cc engine and save some money, seems to be a great little engine. Anyway, that's my $.02. :-)

A couple of planes worth looking at and are top notch are the Extreme Flight 88" Yak , the Somenzini 86" Yak and the AeroWorks 260. They all fit the good power:weight requirement and are great flying planes. Extreme Flight also has a Extra 300 coming out in 50cc size (yellow and blue with DA-50 on cowl). I think by the end of the year. All 4 of them are perfect matches for the DA50.

I am looking for the same thing and also posted kinda the same questions and got 4 top runners from everyone! They were-------
Wildhare Sukhoi
Airwild Extra
Airwild Edge
Extreme Flight Yak
I already have a 33% Yak Flies killer but do i want another also Extreme Flight's Yak is a little pricey but top quality!!!!
Wildhare's Sukhoi is not pricey, excellent quality too!!!
I never dealt with Airwild though
All got rave reviews
Tough choices but i am leaning towards the Wildhare Sukoi!
This is just my .02 cents worth!!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions, Sperrier and Cracky.

I really like the look of the Yak/Sukhoi. What are the pros and cons of the stock vs cannister muffler?

I also note that Aeroworks has a Yak 54 which you don't mention Cracky--do you know of problems with it?

Stock muffler saves weight and offers simplicity. Cannister quiets the plane down and is a little more pricy. If you fly around homes suggestion is to use cannister as to not pi$$ off the neighbors and get your field shut down.

I don't believe that there is anything wrong with the AW Yak, The EF and QQ are just a little more appealing to me than the AW. But that is strictly an opinion.

My AirWild Edge 540 and DA-50 combo is a real nice flying set up and I can get it all in the back of my Honda Accord...

Hey Mike, if you end up with one if these let me know, there are a couple areas on this kit to watch for as it's put together to make things go smother...

The Air Wild Edge 540 is an amazing flying plane. Mine came in right at 15 lbs, I am actually getting ready to order another one from Air Wild.
