My SEt-up:

DA 50, Es Composite pipe, Hitec HS 5955TG all around, Duralite Batts and switches, Smart-FLy Optical cut-off switch, miles of smiles!

OK, You convinced me! I pulled the trigger on the EF YAK/servo package but opted for the Brillelli and I'll go with the stock muffler for now. I've got the Duralite package and Smart fly cutoff on the way, too.

I do development for them, so my opinion is admittedly biased towards the product and need to be clear about that from the beginning. That said, we've tried really hard to include quality hardware and components while keeping the weight as low as possible. AUW with 50cc gas, power expander, A123 pack, stock DL muffler, spinner, Mejzlik prop and Tru Turn spinner is 14 lbs 12 oz. Stock hardware includes carbon wing and stab tubes, carbon tailwheel assembly, aluminum landing gear, double phenolic control horns and ball links, and a full hardware package including fuel tank, control rods, wheels, axles, etc...

Anyway, here's a couple of photos...

That Katana is nice. I will have to check that out too.

I know you already pulled the trigger, and I am sure you will be pleased with the EF yak / Brillelli combo.

I just purchased a WildHare 28% Edge 540 V2 and ordered a Brillelli 60cc for it (my first gas plane). The cowling on the V2 Edge is 10" wide - sure does reduce the worries of fitting engine / muffler combinations! Plenty of room in that big Yak as well.

Good luck with your Yak - I'm sure you will have a permanent grin after the maiden!

SD Models Yak or the Aeroworks 50cc Yak- They both will do you a nice job, the Aeroworks is top quality and comes with great customer service. The SD can be bought from http://Troybuiltmodels.com, they are great planes with more wing area than any 50cc plane on the market. Both will do anything you want and will land like a trainer.

You could also go with Tom's package with the 3mm 53cc engine and save some money, seems to be a great little engine. Anyway, that's my $.02. :-)
I second the Wild Hare. I have 2 right now and owned 3. Great flying planes.
