Jeff,
I haven't set the stab incidence yet. But I'm planning on starting with the lower wing mounted and use that as the zero referance. I'll set the stab at zero at that point and double check the firewall is also zero up/down thrust. Between these three, the initial set up should be close.
From what I understand about bi-planes, the upper wing may require a little (1/4 deg or so) negative incidence, and the motor some down thrust. Only flying it will give you the true requirements. If you double check with Marcello, I'm sure he could give you a much more accurate description of the set up -- super nice guy.
I'm going to use home made aluminum 'tabs' mounted to the flat part of the fuse(under the cheek cowl) to attach the lower flying wires, and the cabane bolts on the upper wing. I'm not sure if he still has them, but I purchased a set of flying wires from AeroWorks that were used on their 33% Ultimate for this. I may not use all of it, but it was a good, albeit, expensive ($75) start to the flying wires.

These planes have serial #'s because each ARF is hand built. If they were jig built it wouldn't matter, but since they are hand built, there is some variance in the way they line up, so they # them to keep the right wings with the right fuse, etc.
Litho, I don't know where you bought yours, but the numbers should have matched. This is why your wing bolts don't line up.
Jeffro503, your #'s all match.

the carb and cutting about 1" off the bottom of the firewall for a standard Jtec pitts muffler. I talked to Jtec and they can make a pitts muffler that will not require cutting the fire wall.

Hey Darrell , would there be anyway you could post a pic or two of your motor install with that DA 85? I sure would like to she what it looks like with one of those mounted up on it. I am still trying to figure out what motor i want for this thing. I had thought about getting the 3W-75 because of the side carb , but if it's not to much of a hassle i would rather have a DA 85 on the front.

Jeff I sent my 85 back to DA for the prop hub update, I haven't cut the firewall yet still deciding on which muffler. I borrowed a Jtec standard pitts from a friend to see how much cutting would be required, it looks like it will be fairly easy install. When I get the install done I will post some pictures here.

Hi Jim that's what I was thinking thanks for confirming. I bought mine from a fellow club member, he's had the plane for a couple of years so there is no way of tracking down the matching wings now.
