Default It's A Miracle - Yet Another 40% Carden 260 Build

So awhile back I got roped into building a Carden for a buddy of mine. To be honest, I didn't really think he'd buy a Carden kit so I wasn't really too worried about him wanting me to build one for him. Imagine my surprise when he shows up one day with several large boxes.

So I started picking at it in between other projects...I've been jumping back and forth between a couple different builds. So far I have the motor box framed up. Did most of the typical lightening mods that other builders have been doing for some time now. I don't plan on doing anything out of the ordinary on this one. The goal is just a relatively light, straight, strong airframe.

tonight, while the wife was entertaining a group of her friends, I locked myself away in the shop and spent a lot of time on the fuse sides.

I prepared the skins and the longerons the night before. Transfered the vertical uprights from the plans to the skins, then just went down the line with a square gluing them in place directly to the skins. I like building them this way as it seems to save me quite a bit of time.

Good tip.
I will let you use that when you build my next Carden.

Yea, Scott talks and Jason is not listening. Jason, don't forget to put the brinks in the tail when Scott is not looking.

Jason's only thought when Scott is talking is ...."SHOW ME THE MONEY"

Yea, Scott, I got my PB also, and am installing it now. Haven't put power to it yet though.

Hey Joe, are you going to mount the display in the plane or leave it out and just check info when you're on the ground?

I haven't decided what I'll do with this one yet....kinda waiting for swanger to bring it over so I can start playing with it and decide what looks best.

....oh yea...and maybe I'll ask for swangers opinion as well.

Boy, I hope she don't read this.

Jason, As for the display, I am considering very seriously to just put it in the plane in one of the hatch floor openings. What good is the info if you can read it easily. Don't want to have to keep taking the hatch off to hook up the display to get the info, besides, I think you loose some info when the unit is shut down.
I am trying to mount it now.
