Any suggestions on 80cc size kits - not arf's, other than the CA series of extras?
I already built an old model CA and a new model CA and have no desire to build another new series CA one. Anything aerobatic will do doesn't have to be extreme 3d etc..extras/edges/caps. Haven't come up with anything other than the CA's so far. About 94-96" would be perfect. |

Or for a cheap model that if built true and light is a very nice flying and very scale looking bird.
The Great Planes 33% Extra 330. Saw one fly with a ZDZ80 a few months back, and it could do anything. I built around 2/3 of one a while back, and got side tracked and ended up selling it. It was a enjoyable build. Just another option!

I'll look into those others, something I hadn't looked at. I'm more of a bore big holes in the sky than 3-D. If I want to 3-D I break out the profile, but want my scale planes to fly scale like. Thanks. |

If I could get that here in the US I think it would be just the thing to build. Also I can't read some of the info on the site

No it won't be a 100ccm plane, the weight with and ZDZ80 B2 is 21 lbs.
Price is someway cheap, I have asked on the 2,2 m and the total price including postage is 223 Euro's = 325 U$ , somewhere I have seen the price for the 2,6 m it will bearound 450U$. Try search for user MomoBrut in here and you'll see Here's the thread. http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...i-good-3d.html rgds Joen Last edited by joenella; 11-24-2007 at 02:45 AM. |

Why not a 35% Carden 260 with an 80cc to 85cc @ 19 to 20 lbs. This would be very easy to build in this size of airframe, and would be the sh#t to fly. ![]() Bob |

A lanier Laser with the Godfrey aftermarket deck, hatch cover and fiberglass parts build out to be a nice flying plane and very reasonable in cost. An 80 would be awesome in this plane. Just another option to the list. I like Laser's, can't help it
It's hard to find someone that's had one of these that really didn't like this plane. Buzz

I read thru the manual they have on their site ad it's pretty typical construction. Anyone have any experience with these? I'm kinda leary of Lanier as a whole to be honest with you. I've never really seen their kits but some of their other products do not just scream quality. If this Staudacher came out at 22lbs with a 3W80 which is what I have and 96" wingspan that would be pretty good for just boring holes in the sky. Gonna do some research. Any thoughts? Any thoughts on where to buy Lanier kits since they were aquired by Hobbico - Tower Hobbies doesn't have them and the Lanier site doesn't say. |

I'm sure it's a nice plane, but it's a whole lot like the CA kit. I wouldn't buy it from AeroWorks if it was 0.50 tho so that's the main hold up. I would buy another CA Extra if I could find them thru anyone but AeroWorks - I'm sure they wouldn't ship to me even if I paid double too. Thanks tho. |
