The Great Planes 33% Extra 330.

Saw one fly with a ZDZ80 a few months back, and it could do anything.

I built around 2/3 of one a while back, and got side tracked and ended up selling it.
It was a enjoyable build.

Just another option!
This thread should be titled - "Kits that are discontinued" Hahaha.

I saw that build thread I think and a few on some other sites.

Scale appearence would be good. I've got the butcher planes like everyone else - wanting something a little different.

If I can't find anything I'm seriously considering ripping my GP 1/4 Gene Soucy Extra apart and scaling it up and starting from there. I find the outline - especially near the front before the cowl rather pleasing compared to the flat sided and flat bottomed planes.

I have built one of Laniers Laser 200 kits, you can have a copy of the drawing. My brother did a scratch built from thes plans.
I fly mine with a ZDZ80 SUPER on a FULL pipe an I tell you MONSTER power even the kit comes out quite heavy.

Mine has AUW inc gas of 26 lbs my brothers same setup different materials AUW 22 lbs.

Aerotech-RC has some great kits. Also just about any 35% Carden could be lightened a couple pounds for a perfect 80cc plane.

Just in case anyone else was wondering I checked on that 2.6 Velox kit. Delivered to the US wasn't as bad as I thought - kit, delivery and their VAT deal was $621 US but it would be like 3 months out.

Right now I think I'm going to look for a GP 300 1/3 kit and see how that goes.

The thing that concerns me on the Cardens is weight. If I had a DA-85 maybe or a ZDZ80 super but a 3W80 is the weakest of the 80cc engines.

3 months??? why ? normally they have a delivery time of about 2-3 weeks, as kit are made to order.
Remember to deduct their VAT which is 19%

I would wait, if I where you.

What about one of Godfrey's?

I'm kinda in the same boat. Looking to build a kit soon. I got a ZDZ80 super laying around!

I actually went there before I posted - the only kits they have that are not in "prototyping stage" are too big. They have a few that would be good looking candidates, but it still says "to come".

Maybe I'll fire off an email and ask them when. I'm not big on being the first for a new kit. I already got burned on that once.
