Hardware looks average. Still not sure if I'll use it. Replacing the wheels and tail gear is a must I hear. Ordered the Dl-100. Should ship it next week. $700 shipped aint too bad!

Hey 2Robinhood: are you still flying the Lanier Yak with the DL100? If so, have you discovered any strength or structural issues (other that the landing gear) which need work? I was planning to build mine as an IMAC backup this spring but due to losing a wing on a snaproll (JTeck Radiowave Panzl) now I have to get it done quickly as my primary plane.

Nope, all is well.
The landing gear was the only real issue.
Reglue the anti-rotation pins in the wings, I did find on laying in the fuse after a flight.

This was my second plane ( different brands ) with a split ( two piece ) landing gear.
I had the same issues with both. I feel that one piece landing gear is much, much stronger then a two piece gear.
The one piece spreads the load over a larger area and both legs work together for strength.
Two piece gear is like a 18" pry bar pulling/twisting on a 2" X 2" patch with three bolts.
It's gonna take a beating and it will fail over time.

Example picture.

Hey "Teammuir1" what kind of "new" landing gear and upgrades are on the plane you are buying? I am putting one of these together as well and the landing gear in my plane looks nothing like the pictures from a few posts ago.

I just posted that picture as a example of not much mounting strength in a two piece landing gear.
Here are some pictures of the landing gear mod I did.
