I took a piece of painters tape and marked 4mm from trailing edge of the wing (before the ailerone) and used a cut off wheel. Then I took a sanding block to get it looking nice...It is a perfect edge across the trailing edge. I have seen some trim this off..it looks like they used plyers and and chipped it off.
The 2.6 Yak is a 3D monster. Much more so than the 3.0 Yak. Use SWB or JR 1.5" arms. If you are using 8711s you can get away with one servo per aileron. |

im getting a used 2.6 yak and would like to use a single 8711 on each aileron. is there an easy way to remove the outer phenolic horn and remount it next to the inner one to sandwich a ball link?

I am building my first Compy. And I decided to use the stock phenolic control horns on the surfaces and went with 1.5" aluminum servo arms with Nelson 4-40 ball links on the servo arm and clevises on the phenolic horns. I am how ever NOT going to use the included 3mm threaded rod because its threads into the clevises loosely and sloppy! So I am going to use the Dubro H/D clevises and H9 Titanium links. Here is a picture of my linkages mocked up. Also I still need to widen the aileron slot a bit for clearance and throw as pepatrick mentioned.

yea i dont think im going to use the phenolic servo arms either. probably 1.5 swb arms with titanium rods to balljoints sandwiched between 2 horns. i havent decided wether or not il double up the elevator horns or just set it up lilke yours.
