My friend took a few pictures of my Yak today. I found something interesting in one of the pictures. The fuse seems to be flexing in the air.

I wouldn't rule that explanation out either.

TBM is starting to become famous for cutting too many corners. Thats the 3rd pair I have heard about. We had 2 drop stacks at our field.

It sure did break clean on the weld. Looks like a mfg. defect.

i gave it to my buddy he is a good welder, but the 1st thing he noticed was how its broke around the bolt hole, he isnt sure if it will seal, he will try some sealant around it then weld the thing back together but it may leak around that bolt area, so i guess i can try it and if i see some slime coming from the bolt i know to get another set, jtec sounds like the way to go, i never had any of there stuff yet, the only thing ive seen 1st hand was a guy at my field with jtecs, he didnt like them cause they were loud, didnt say anything about quality just too much noise for him, i dont mind, plus his was on a 170 i think, so my 100 wont be that loud either way, anyway i will give the repair a shot 1st, then jtec for sure if it doens work.....btw i looked at my buddies stock da mufflers and they even have a weld around that area, mine had nothing, was just brazed or "dipped" or whatever they call it, no external bead at all, so whos to say the other one wont break soon, may decide on jtecs no matter if the fix works or not

hi guys i decided to change the bottom scheme, look what i got. i already finished the wings, i'll take a pic of the whole plane later. hope you like it. Also, check out the patented removable rudder hinge lock easy.

BTW. have you ever noticed that the wing and stab covers actually scratch the ultracote? look close and u'll see some fine lines, but it gets worse later. it happened to me and a bunch of friends with extreme flight, QQ and other similar covers. i took large cotton cloth and cover the inside to prevent it.

I had the same thing happen to me awhile back. I had someone weld both muffs for me.

Nice job on the covering...I like it !

I too noticed some fine scratches starting. So, I now have "real" wing bags
