The 100 w/ stock mufflers isnt to loud. It can be made to be to loud by using the wrong props. My 35% w/ old style da100 and jtech muffler got 5 and several 10 sound scores in IMAC contests w/ a mzjlik 27x10. You will be fine on sound with a mejlic 27x10 28x10. Some of those wood props are much louder and i dont have enough exp with them to say wether they will be loud or not but i know several of the wood props imo were to loud and lacking in performance (other than hovering they were worthless).

i know for sure my vess is much louder than my mej., my biela was even more quiet than the mej but it may have been just cause it loaded the motor more and got a few less rpms...btw the vess was not my choice for imac stuff anyway

If tuned pipes are recomended I would have to go with a DLE 111 ver. the DA do to my budget.
Thanks all.
Go for it. Power is not lacking with a DA100 on stock mufflers.

I would highly recommend 2 servos. I just recently burned up one of my hitec 5955's and one servo wasn't even close to enough for anything more than circle flying and touch and goes. I realize the 8711 and the 7950's are over 100 more inch pounds on torque, even at that I would still have 2.

i just bolted my wings together yesterday for the first time and it seemed to take a while with the stock nylon bolts. has any one used a different means of securing the wing, i was thinking red locktite a threaded rod and use thumb bolts similar to my comp arf 260

ive heard of some cutting the nylon bolts shorter so there is less to thread in, i did that with a smaller plane one time, not a big enough deal for me to do it here though

I cut mine down pretty good. There is only about 3/8" of thread that makes contact

yep... stock bolts are fine, but nothing wrong with cutting them a bit shorter... just don't go too short

Check the hole alignment in the fuse.

I had to file them out a bit in order to allow the nylon bolt to turn freely.

From a recent article done with a DA100L, on stock mufflers, MTW cans....
The BEST thrust was seen from the VESS 27B 2-blade prop...
It is also, the loudest...Even with cans...

Also, I had thought that the MTW cans would INcrease power, but according to the strict testing,
the stock mufflers proved to have MORE power than the MTW cans....
The Evolution cans will INCREASE power/RPMS.... these must have a mild TUne to them...
MTW's don't....

True cannister mufflers like the MTWs will take away slight amount of power,,,,, I TUNED cannister like KS95's or somehting will add some power,, the stock mufflers fall in between,,,

The 27B is the best all around prop for the DA100,,, the 27c would work great for a IMAC/sport plane,, the C will load the motor more providing less noise and more top end speed,, Larry Lewis, myself , Robert Vess and Josh Bunn all fly the 27B on our extreme flight 110" yaks ,,

Can anyone tell the difference between the Mej 27x10 and the vess 27b? I had been spinning the 27b. I bought the mej 27x10 and got 3 flights on it tonight. The only difference I could tell, is it seems the full throttle up lines were a bit better with the vess. Other than that the vess is $40 cheaper....lol The tips on the vess are very fragile. Looks like they are very close in performance

I am flying the ef 110 yak on a DA100 and stock mufflers.. Plane has plenty of power for everything but climbing flat spins. So far most of the 100 or so flights last season on it were with a a PT 28x10 carbon fiber. Thought it was ok but was pulling only 41-42 pounds of thrust and throttle response was almost there but not perfect. Tryed a MEJLIK 27x10 TH and the response was like night and day difference but the plane felt like a "slipping clutch" in a hover. So now I have a XOAR 27x10 sword white and red tips and hope to see what it does when the weather ever breaks. Also put a red/white painted CF spinner that has a red vortex/spiral painted to it. TOTAL BLING with the xoar painted prop..
