Looks like they are very close in performance
The 27B keeps a more constant load on the engine,, the fixed 27x10 mej will unload alot more at wide open throttle..

I would highly recommend 2 servos. I just recently burned up one of my hitec 5955's and one servo wasn't even close to enough for anything more than circle flying and touch and goes. I realize the 8711 and the 7950's are over 100 more inch pounds on torque, even at that I would still have 2.
Thanks for the info, I will go with 2 servos...

That would explain the slower uplines. Thanks

found out something interesting today with my wolverine switch, i always knew it had 2 switches and they were seperate, what i didnt know was it shares the battery juice after the switches are on, i finally set up a 2nd reciever in my plane cause i had an extra and figured why not be extra safe, well after setting it all up and splitting ele and ail to one side, i threw the switch, just one out of 2, and both recievers powered on, i double checked everything to see if i had a short or forgot to undo a Y or something, but nope is seperate one batt lead in each reciever, so i looked up the switch and it talks about sharing feature, so i think everything is set up correctly and thats the way its supposed to work, i tried to call them but they are closed until monday, anyway with just 1 reciever i never noticed it cause 1 switch would turn the plane on not matter what, well even 2 recievers 1 switch turns the entire plane on too, so now if one batt goes i still have both recievers, kinda cool, another benfit i was never aware of

T-moller, understand on the money thing. Seems those that have the money have no time and those w/time have no money. I am not getting a DA120 anytime soon either and I want one bad.

With all the prop talk I figured I would jump in with what I've found. I'm running the DA 100L and RE2 pipes, I've run Mejzlik 25-12 3 blade, 27-10 and 28-10 2 blades. The 3 blade is ok at sea level but you're using every bit of power you have, if you make a mistake on a 45 or vertical you run out of the extra power you could use. The 28-10 works great, loads the engine just about right for all around flying but will rip pretty good if you're not careful. After texting both of those props, and I flew many flights with both, I tried the 27-10 and noticed right away it wasn't as loud as the 28-10. Another plus is it seems to continue to pull hard on verticals with numerous snaps. I feel I have more consistant power and continues to pull throught the second half of a vertical rolling figer 8 as well. Either way, you can't go wrong with a 27 or 28-10 Mejzlik, it really just comes down to what you prefer. Just to throw out some numbers, I had MTW TD75's on the first DA 100 swinging the 28-10 Mej. around 6350, after going to the DA 100L and RE2's I was swing the same prop at 6800. I haven't tached the 25-12 3 blade or the 27-10, I prefer to make my decisions more from the feel I get while flying the plane than the numbers on the ground, the highest numbers don't always provide the best overall performance, many people still can't understand that but it's very true. I've already got well over 400 flights on the DA 100L and it's still running great, I'm very happy with the motor and am really looking forward to the 120, as good as the 110" Yak is with the 100, I think the 120 on pipes will be the untilmate package.

Hi Lee.
My Yak is almost ready to maiden. I have a 27/10 MENZ on it now, and a 28/10 PT carbon fiber coming next week and can't wait to compare the 2.

Sounds great, looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the plane after the maiden, I'm sure you'll be very happy. Good luck with it!!!

yeh it suprised me even after having it for a year...i read that is drains the batts even too, so you can put a 3000 and a 1500 for example and supposidly it will drain them even as it goes...just the way both recievers lit up with one switch caught me off gaurd, i was expecting just one to go...

Lee, have same set up, and you are correct on the all these props, did the same with mine. But ended up with a zoar eagle tip in 27X10, very quiet, and more effectiant. Less rudder input on full power verticals. Give one a try I think you will be impressed as I was.

That statement tells me you didnt set up the plane for each prop? When you change props your right thrust may need adjustments and if your using rudder on an up line for other reasons than wind you prob need a thrust angle adjustment.

i noticed a difference in thrust angle switching props too, there was a difference from a vess to a menz, both 26" diameter but uplines tracked different until adjustments were made
