I sit and lean back, almost laying down, and have a foot rest, I seems easier when I'm super comfortable

I have tried to fly the sim while standing up. It would be excellent if you had a huuuge screen mounted nice and high at eye level. But I am too tall.
I do, however like to wear my necstrap and have the antenna extended so the balance of the tx feels the same as it does at the field. I know I am a weirdo!!! |

It's official, thanks Verne...

Yes Benny, yes you are...but that's what we love about you, my friend
I sit, but I can see why somebody would think standing makes sense. The way you hold the transmitter is different when you sit, you're not sitting at the field. Plus, it's hard to get the body english in when you're sitting

Actually I sit for the same reason as Benny. My eye line is like 6 ft off the deck and my PC screen is no where near that height.
Plus I like the seated position as it allows me to sip on a brown cooling liquid while just using elevator and ailerons. Figure its good practice so I can answer my cell phone when it rings when I´m flying. Kidding guys, but the amber liquid thing is not a joke. Kiwi |

I sit while flying the sim. Reason is, the monitor is to low, sitting on the desk to allow me to fly standing up.
Now, I wonder if I would be able to fly a model while sitting down. I bet that would be different. Landing would be cool. I have seen guys fly while holding the transmitter inverted behind their back. That has got to be challenging. Even better yet, Chip has flown with his feet before. I don't think I will ever try that. Mike Darr |

That's funny. You should join RCCD in Southeast Michigan, United States. We have a no cell phone rule at our club. The reason it is funny, is because of the way people act if they even think you have a cell phone. I want to take an old cell phone, then replace the guts with a tachometer. That way when I go to tach my engine, eveybody will start screaming at me to get rid of the cell phone.:Banane24: Mike Darr |

I have flown whilst seated on a comfy folding chair. We were flying our profiles around and then at the end of the flight the challenge was to climb, then cut the motor, the person who dosnt have to get off their chair to retrieve their model wins!!! If its too close to call then the tape measure had to come out!
