Bad-ass Super Contributer!
![]() |
I have also been putting my 88" together and it is incredible how quickly this thing goes together, the quality un unreal with all EF stuff and I can see I am going to love this model!
Mine is the red, white and blue extra and my setup is: EF Extra 88.5" Extra 300 50CC (red, white and blue (yes I know same as my 58" lol!!)) DA50R engine ES Composites full length Carbon Fibre tuned pipe (KS manifold) Mejzlik 23x8 Carbon Fibre propellor Mejzlik 4" Carbon Fibre Spinner Hitec HS5985MG servos on Elevators, Ailerons Hitec HS5955TG servo on rudder All using SWB servo Horns Flight Power 2S2P 3000mAh pack for radio gear Flight Power 2S 2100mAh pack for ignition Smart-Fly Ignition Cut-off Smart-Fly Regulator with Fail safe Smart-Fly Ignition Regulator Kavan Inflatable wheels and axel set Dubro 20oz tank Futaba R149DP D/C PCM Receiver Got well into the build, but I am still waiting on some of the parts so there is only so far I can go with the build at the moment. The quality of this thing is simple amazing, the work that must have gone in to designing this model is awesome! As per the 58" there are some very nice features that have really been thought out and introduced, the canopy, pilot and scale cockpit all add to the scale appearance of the plane and re brilliant quality like the rest of the model One thing I particularly like are the control linkages, the screw thread on them are opposite, one left hand thread, one right hand thread, meaning the linkage can never come undone. The wings and tailplane all come with their own protective wing bags aswell which is a nice touch. I can tell this is going to be a lively model, the control surfaces on this thing are huge, there is nearly 90 degrees of movement in the ailerons! (but I doubt I will use it all lol) The rudder is huge so KE should be really slow. To be honest there is not alot of work to do in this model as it has been well thought out. Some pics of the build so far, I am still waiting on the engine and some radio gear for the model so once these things arrive I can continue with the fidly bits! now for the pics so far:

Wow these kits are awesome, I am waiting for my 50cc Yak. How does the wing area of the Extra compare to the YAK |

Hey guys,
Graham, great pics dude! I can't wait to get this one started. Right now I am about 50% done with the 110" Yak build. I want to maiden it in two weeks. I got to get ready for the first IMAC contest in January! Anyway when I do finally get to building this beauty, I will set-her up the same as my trusty 88" Yak 54. DA50 w/ ES Composite pipe, HS 5955 al the way around. AR7000 2.4 rx, Vess 23B. I think I will try the new Smart-Fly Sport Plus. Its a power box, built n regs for two batteries, built in Optical cut-off switch. Excellant unit and plenty of bang fo rthe buck. I have heard nothing but good things about this unit. Here is the link to it: http://www.smart-fly.com/Products/Po...ersystems.html Aloha

I just had a quick question in regards to the EF 50cc yak and extra. I've never flown either so is there any difference in performance like in IMAC and 3D or how they handle?
