Hey Guys,

A couple of months ago I had the privilege of putting the first few flights on the first production model of this airplane. All I can say is Wow! It is probably the best flying 50cc airplane I have ever flown. The Extra flies very straight and clean, draws nice lines and breaks clean through snaps. The rudder authority is outstanding. And the plane did not need any coupling mixing at all. I went through the Unlimited sequence with it a couple of times and from flying both this and the Yak I would definitely say that the Extra would be better for IMAC. It is also about a pound lighter so as for the 3D capabilities... you dont have to ask. You can throw it around like a foamy and is very stable. Aside from all the amazing flying qualities it is, in my opinion one of the best looking Extra 300's on the market as well.

Keep up the good building Rennie!

Chris

Have you flown the EF Yak? If so, how does it compare to the EF Extra in regard to precision and 3D?

Hi Guys

Has any one flown both the Extra and the Yak I am looking for a aircraft to practice 3D I fly at 5500 ft above sea level so I am looking for a light aircraft with a low wing loading. What do you guys think the Extra or the Yak?

Hovermaster had the first flight on the Extra, I had the second. I REALLY like the Extra 300 and I REALLY like the Yak......Both are Awesome flying planes and you absolutely cant go wrong with either one! I have the H9 Extra 260 and liked it, but this Extra 300 blows it away ( even thought they are two different airframe styles )
The Extra 300 ( very much like the Yak ) is a plane you make a few laps with and your immediately comfortable with! The Extra isnt a "floater" but is Extremely predictable, flies and tracks very straight, and is easy to build. I dont have mine yet, but I cannot wait after flying the original .

Hey Blair,
I've got an 88" Extra and 110" Yak on order, can't wait to get them after hearing all the good things you and Chris have said about the planes. I've got a couple other people getting them also, looks like there's gonna be a bunch of Chris's planes in the N.E. IMAC's this year!! Have a good holiday, talk to ya later.

Guys, By saying the Extra isnt a floater, I meant that it doesnt have the same frontal area the Yak does. A tad bit hotter landing, but probably something that anyone that has flown an Extra would know, probably not even enough difference to make the comment. They are two different airframes and the Extra doesnt have the "Drag" a Yak would.
The Extra still will fly slowly and walks in on landing.....Awesome plane!
Hope that "Clarifies" what I meant in the above statement......
Blair

Lee,
These two planes will have been the best purchase you could have made.....I am sure you wont want to sell these after a few flights!

The Extra... but altitude doesnt really have anything to do with the airplane, although a 50cc engine will perform better in the Extra than the Yak because of the less drag on the airframe.
