Hey Blair what scheme did you get? You could easily have it done over the weekend it goes together fast and everything fits perfect. I'm so happy I listened to you and Chris about this plane, it's everything you said, awesome. I know the same will go for the Yak when it gets here. Hopefully you'll have your Extra done soon and we'll get a good enough day to get out, hope to see you soon.

Hey Lee,
The Plane looks awesome the colors look even better in person. Hopefully today will be the day for the maiden flight, as long as we can beat the rain. Call me and I'll bring the camera. ![]() Team Clamtown Bad Ass. |

I got three flights in on the Extra today. This plane is awesome, it really feels and flies like a 35% plane. It's very locked in and handled the wind well. I'm very confident that this could be a competitive IMAC plane and can't even imagine how nice a 100cc version would be. I'd like to thank Chris Maier and Blair for all the good information they gave me on the plane, I took their advice and got a plane that is probably the best in the 50cc size. I have flown the 88" Yak and didn't think it could get much better than that, but it did. I can't take anything away from the Yak though, it's a completely different design. I'd also like to thank Extreme Flight for all the effort and sacrifices they have made to get us the best looking and flying planes out there. They are truely dedicated to us, whether you are just a weekend flier or a serious competitor, and deserve credit for the great service and attitude that they have brought to the hobby. Now I just can't wait for the 110" Yak!!!!!!

I just weighed my plane and it's between 16 - 16.5 lbs., that's with the DA 50 and MTW RE2 tuned pipe.

Yeah I can't believe it's that light, even though the scale I used is very accurate I'm going to use another tomorrw just to be sure. I have heard they were around 16.5 with the es composite pipes so I'm thinking my scale is right. It's really nice to have a plane that actually weighs what the manufacturer says. This plane flies really good!!! Can't wait to see more posts from others with this plane, I'm sure everyone is going to love it.

I've already had a couple PM's about my set up so I'll just post everything here. I think I already posted some of the info but I'll do everything again.
1. DA 50 with 25 drop header and MTW RE2 Pipe ( carbon carb plate and flipped the carb over) 2. Xoar 23-8 with True Turn 4" solid backplate 3. Nickle Medal 2000 mah 4.8v mounted in motor box with haevy duty JR switch for ignition 4. JR 8411 on throttle until a new servo arrives 5. Duralite 4300 square 4 cell redundant High Current with 6v High Current reg. with built in heavy duty switch for rx (Battery mounted in motor box, reg next to tank) 6. 8611a's on ailerons and elevators, 8711 on rudder (SWB arms on eveything, 4" offset on rudder) 7. Spektrum AR 9000 with 2 remote rx's and data log (mounted behind wing tube in front of rudder servo) 8. Dubro 20oz. tank (included) 9. Dubro 3.5" wheels and axles 10. Installed depron canopy floor with dash panel and Pilot X I built the plane as per instructions with no modifications, used all included hardware. With the batteries up front the cg is close to nuetral, very slight push inverted. Upon maiden flight the plane only needed a clik of right aileron and a couple clicks of up (trim step 2 in 9303). I only have 5% up elevator with left rudder so far but will set up a very slight down elevator at idle mix for down lines next time out. Keep in mind I only have three flights on it so far so mixing most likely will change a little over time. The DA 50 is brand new and power is awesome, should only get better. The all up weight with no fuel is roughly 16-16.5 lbs.. As long as everyone builds as per instructions you should be within the recommended weight range. Construction on the plane is excellent and other than going over high stress areas with a little CA there is no need for any re-enforcement that will cause extra weight. Good luck and lets get some more posts and pictures going here!!!! Lee Morey

There sure is alot of Jersey folks on this thread. I dont have the Extra just two Yaks the 74" and the 88". So I wont steal your thread to much. I bet we could get an Extreme Flight funfly up in Jersey somewhere..That would be sweet!!
