Default KRILL YAK 55M Build / Assemble

I’m starting a build thread on the new Krill Yak. It is done in the US Barb scheme, a little different than the color schemes on the web site. I decided on the Krill for a couple of reasons, I might have jumped the gun a little by not waiting until this plane has seen some more action, but I really like the lines of the 55M and the quality of the Krill planes. The Katana is doing well in many types of flying events so hopefully this one will be as good or better.

This airframe was the giveaway plane at the 2007 Tucson Shootout, but the gentleman that won it had his heart set on a Katana instead, so the nice people at Krill accommodated him and I lucked out with the Yak, thanks to Joe (xtra330) and his help chasing down Phillip. Phillip Barnett of Skyline Aviation (http://www.krill-model.com/usa/shop/shop.php) was very helpful and worked hard on getting me the plane as soon as he could.

Mark Leseburg flew Krill Yak 55M in the EXFC this year and took 3rd, if you get a chance search for EXFC and you will see some wild free style flying. I’m not much on the details, so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I won’t be rushing this project; as a matter of fact this plane is so new I am still waiting on the instruction manual, but a few things I can figure out for myself, I think. If you see me making a donkey (political correct for JACKA$$) of myself, don’t hold back, any comments are welcome.

Here are some pictures of what it looks like out of the box.
