Default BME Extra 330L from performance aircraft unlimited

Hey, has anyone had any experiance with these planes. They look great and for $450 shipped, that's a hard deal to beat if they fly well.
Thanks for the help

the BME extra 330L would be a sweet choice. I was also thinking the same thing about why didnt they put the edge for that price too. but then PAU told me that they wanted to make room for the new planes.

I've got one sitting in the box. Did a cursory inspection when it arrived and it looked pretty good. A few issues with the covering overlaps on the trim colors, but I did not notice any bare wood at the joints. No wrinkles upon opening the box, but I suspect that there will be a few present when I reopen it for Christmas(it is a gift). It is unreasonable to expect an airplane that comes from China to be wrinkle free due to the wide range of humidity and temp changes.

Hardware looked fine to me and others have been using it trouble free for many, many flights.

I'll begin assembling mine on Christmas and I'll post my progress. I will be using the following components in mine:
  • ZDZ 50 w/ Slimline Pitts Muffler
  • Sanyo HR-1950 mah FAUP 5 cell NiMh batteries (x2) from NoBs Batteries
  • Hobbico (Hitec) Cs-150 Digital Servos for Elevators and Ailerons (advertised 193 oz in at 6v)
  • Hobbico (Hitec) Cs-170 Digital Servo for Rudder (advertised 333 oz in at 6v)
  • JR Heavy Duty Charge slider switches
  • JR 9303 TX
  • have not decided on RX, but have several to choose from...

Started to put mine together. Looks pretty good so far. Covering could have been a little better, but I guess I get what I paid for.

Waiting on servos and a few other things so I can finish it up.

Perfection and I got a couple of these and we have started in. I hope she flys good. The bags that came with the plane, sure make it nice to slip on the plane at a funfly so that the heat dont warp the canopy. (We have this happen a bunch)

DA 50
Emcotec DSPRV Mini
Emcotec Voltage regulator
4 HS 5945MG
1 HS 5955TG
1 HS 6975HB
2 7.4 Lipos
smartfly ignition cutoff
Spectrum AR7000 Reciever

We are hoping for 16lbs

Reaction and Perfection:

Looks like you may have got one of the kits with the bad cowls. This was a known issue with this kit and I believe PAU has been replacing them if you shoot Herve an e-mail. PAU is becoming known for their customer service, give it a try!

I know you will have a blast with your Extras!!! They ROCK!!! Like Reaction (I think) said, if it is a true hucker, who cares if the cowl has a scratch in it!!!!

FLY IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!

and have a FANTASTIC NEW YEAR!!!!

Plane_Reaction:

I am CONFUSED as to why you would say this?

Quote:
We are unsure about contacting him about the cowl
Don't be SHY....don't be UNSURE...Send Herve an E-mail and ASK him to send you a new one....

-time spent sending e-mail = 2 minutes

-cost to send e-mail = $0.00

-cost to get killer new cowl = $0.00

-satisfied customer = PRICELESS!!!

GOOD LUCK!

I test flew one these planes a few weeks ago for a buddy and I was very impressed. Especialy for a brand new combo. With some minor radio tweaks it will be awesome.

Dude, Chill, I got no issue here! Just thought you were unhappy with your cowl as you took time to take pics and post about it, so I thought I would let you know that PAU had been replacing those cowls for free. Trying to help.....

Glad you are satisfied...

Happy New Year!!
