The plane that Mark flew this year wasnt streched for the purpose of running the 200 engine. These were changes that myself and Mark wanted to try out to come up with the best IMAC airplane. The stretched 300 is intended to use a 150/170 engine and have a stock dry weight of 38.5 lbs. Marks plane weighed 41.2 lbs dry and if you subtract the difference in weight from the 200 and the extra weight that was added when I glassed and painted the turtldeck ,fin and rudder the plane will easily come in at under 39 lbs without any additional lighting mods. The stretched 300 will 3d but if your looking for a good 3d and IMAC plane then the original 300 would be a better choice.

Ok cool Thanks for the information Tony. I think I have found Marks Godfrey he had in 2004, I think it was stripped and needs covering, but do you know anything about the construction and weight of the Godfrey then verses now. I am not sure but I think you built that for him in 2004? right or wrong Tony? I don't know for sure why it was stripped I have to investigate that, but if it hasn't been crashed I am thinking it might be more feasable for me to do that. Thanks again and keep suggestions coming../......Ryan

RC Fanatic... please keep in mind the size difference with these planes as well... both the godfrey and the Dalton are larger than the Cardens (not better or worse).
So when you are looking at the weights, please keep in mind that the Daltons are 123" (112" or 118" long depending on which 300) and the godfrey is 126" X 120 (i believe), the carden is 118" X 110, 112". BTW: i have the Dalton 260 and am building the new Dalton ML300.

I built the prototype and Mark flew it at the masters in 2003 I think. I then built 2 others and both myself and Mark flew in 2004. Mine was sold to a guy in Sarasota and Mark still has his. It was stripped and recoverd by Kenny Laughter recently. Unless Mark is selling that one. On the three that I built I couldnt get them under 40 lbs but some things may have changed in the construction since I have built them. I know of a couple guys who have built them and said that they got them under 40 lbs.

I have built a carden and an aeroworks. The carden is a very hard and frustrating build. I can whip out a aeroworks out in no time. Stay away from the carden unless your a seasoned builder or if you can afford to get one built. Once you get there they fly great but getting there is very difficult. Just my opinion.
