My dad was my big support and my mentor. Together we worked for many years. My first airplane was a scratch and own line trainer that my Dad buil for me back in 77. He coach and teach from building, tune engines, design airplanes to flying. Later on I grew and do it by my self but with a strong school.
I think 3D aerobatic in on the target of some full size aerobatic pilots. Some of them are doing some maneuvers. I believe in the future we are going to see more and more. Quique,
Thank you for your time answering all these questions for us! Also, I really enjoyed watching you fly at the RDRC Fly For Tots this year. Here's a picture that I took of one of your flights: ![]() My question is, with the advent of 3D flight, electric flight, and RC websites, what do you forsee as the future driving force behing RC? Thanks! Chris Todd

Like you say if the airplane is too light will do some things but not other and same if it is too heavy. I do not use a rule I base my decisions on my experience of previous designs and power plant to use. I found that I can do more variarity of 3D maneuver if I have an airplane that is slighly heavier wing loading and a lot of power than an other airplane that is very light wing loading a shorter in power. Even a combination of very light wing loading and a lot of power might not do as much as a bit heavier wing loading airplane. An other factor to consider is the wind that can play an important role on the overall performance. When I design an airplane I always think in the wind. Most of the time we fly with some kind of wind or even medium to strong winds. Our average of wind is more than calm so it is important to have an airplane that can perform well with wind. Please do not get me wrong I am not saying that a 2,000 square in. and 30 lbs airplane will fly better than a 25lbs at same area but probably same airplane at 22 lbs my not do as well at the overall spectrum of the 3D aerobatic.
Hope this give you an idea. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Take care. Quique </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Quique
Tons of congratulations for the first place on the F3A WC!!!!, unfortunately I could not be there to see you but I sent my good friend and partner Kiwi so he could gave us daily reports and pictures. I know you put a lot of effort to achive this goal and you finally got it. If you have some time on March and you want to come down to Chile with Sandra and your kids maybe you can attend the Aeroshow 2008 to be held here in Santiago (CACH), Frank Noll and maybe Andrew J. will be here too. Think about it.... a few days of vacation in Valdivia is always great. Well, nice to see you at the top. Take care a I hope to see you here in Chile soon. Saludos Fernando Viollier C. Crew,
That wraps up The FlyingGiants Q&A with The Godfather, and our friend, Mr. Quique Somenzini. Thanks a bunch for coming in QQ! This was a very rare, and cool opportunity to get to know a true legend in modeling, and we are all honored to have you here! I learned alot from this discussion, especially on the beginnings of 3D flight, and what it has turned into today, and much more. Thanks again from all of the FG staff - we sincerely look forward to the next time! All the best - Max Duncan

Thank Reza... I think that because Quique´s Airplane has a lot of stickers about Jr. I make that question because a friend of mine talk with Quique in the world champion and he told me that Quique said: "This is a Spektrum Radio....no a Jr"
Do you have a picture where appers Quique and the Jr 12x? It would be good because i could show that evidence to my friend! Last question Reza.....Are you a friend of Quique or similar? Thank a lot.....Martín from Argentine!

Hi Martin,
It is a JR 12X with Spektrum technology. Similar to X9303 that is a JR radio with Spektrum technology (2.4Ghz). If I find a picture that close I will post it. On your last questions, answer is yes. Thank you for your questions. Take a look at the pictures posted by KIWI the gentleman that covered the event, you may find some pictures with the radio but meantime I will look into what I have ![]() Reza
