Very impressive airplane that's for sure!! I've been flying one of these for several weeks now and it is by far one of the most versitile airplanes in this size range. With the airfoiled tail surfaces on the Velox (not to common on a 47" balsa model) the pitch authority on this airplane is AWESOME!!
My Velox is setup with a Hacker A30-10XL on 4s and it is an absolute ROCKET!!

My full setup:

Hacker A30-10XL
Hacker X-Pro 55
3D Hobby Shop 4s 2200mah
(4)HS-65HB's (will soon be switching out my HB gears for MG gears)
AR 6000

Here are some numbers I'm getting with my setup.

4s with a APC 13 x 6.5E

Amps - 56A
Watts - 757W
Watts/lb. - 275W/lb.

4s with a APC 14 x 7E

Amps - 68A
Watts - 891W
Watts/lb. - 324W/lb.

The Velox is also a great flyer on 3s and will 3D quite easily and will actually fly a little lighter than most 4s setups. The 3s setup is great for any type of slow high alpha 3D flying and the 4s setup I have found is also great for 3D flying but is fantastic for high speed tumbles.

Here is a video I shot a little while back showing the verstility of the Velox on 3s.

Velox on 3s

Here is an EXCELLENT video of the Velox Revolution being flown on 3s (red Velox) and 4s (blue Velox).

Thanks for posting that Tim!

The darmed airline job is getting in the way of me posting the remaining assembly photos until tonight. More shortly.

You must be at altitude then with the 737-300 on autopilot while you type on your laptop. I need to get me one of those day jobs.

Ok. Where was I. Oh yeah, rudder servo rigging. The stock pull/pull lines work perfectly with the connectors on the servo and the line simply run through the phenolic horn on the rudder. I double back my lines through the crimp for security.

On to the stab/elevator assembly. First, align and glue the elevator half with the wood elevator joiner pre-attached to the horizontal stab with thin CA on the CA hinges. Again, 2 drops per hinge. Be sure to leave 1-2mm gap for full 3D control throw. With one elevator installed, slide the horizontal stab into the slot in the fuselage. Temporarily install the second elevator half but DO NOT GLUE it yet. Align the stab square with the wing and glue with thin CA. The tight fit of the stab assembly precludes the need to remove covering or use Epoxy. Believe us - this really works well!

Rounding out the elevator install, apply a generous amount of medium or thick CA to the elevator joiner slot and quickly join the second elevator half to the airframe. Again, 2 drops of thin CA per hinge and match the elevator hinge gap width to the other elevator half.

Install the phenolic control horn with thin CA, and complete the hardware connections like we did on the ailerons.

Final couple of steps all involve mounting the power system. The Velox comes stock with blind nuts installed that perfectly match the Extreme Flight Torque line of motors. We recommend either the 2818-900 on 3S, or the 2814-820 on 4S. All of the attach hardware is also included. The only step you need to do is route out the hole in the firewall to allow clearance for the Torque's aft retention wheel collar.

The Torque 2814 mounted. If you use the shorter 2828-900, we've also included short Nylon standoffs to set the motor depth correctly for the cowling.

The easiest method of mounting the ESC is with Nylon ties to the side of the motor cage.

Final couple of steps are attaching the cowling. I use the card stock tab method for locating the holes.

We include a vertical receiver tray with Nylon tie slots for really easy mounting.

Finally, Velcro and a strap for the battery. Be sure to actually glue the Velro down, as the self-stick adhesive just isn't enough IMHO. You'll need one additional 6" extension for the throttle channel to reach the receiver.

Wings attach onto the carbon spar with Nylon thumb screws for quick and tool less field assembly.

Final couple of shots... Only additions over stock are the red stripes and red wheel pants. I've also attached a shot of the stock airplane we modeled the 47" Velox after. Note the full-scale SFG's! Best we can tell they are drag reduction on the full-scale, but for us they're additional side are for unreal KE performance
