Hopefully we can take it to them again this year!! It's hard to stay on top, so many teams will be "gunning for us" but that's the way it is when you have the best team in any sport. We won 18 of 36 Cup races in 07, something never heard of and we want to do even better in 08. Just keep pushing the bar a little higher.

So, where's the video? Surely there's someone else on the planet building and flying this plane.

Mine's just about done. I ordered new turnbuckles for the pull-pull and new wheels, they should be in this week, but I'll be gone all week. So, In another week or so, if the weather cooperates, we may get some air under this thing.

It came in a bit heavy (19 pounds) but I did install a smoke system, redundant receiver batteries and a choke servo... probably about an extra pound. The DA50 should still be fine for it, but I may have to drop down to a narrower prop to get some pulling power. It looks great. If I ever get it out to the field, I'll at least get some decent still pictures.

Well, I got the maiden in today... what a sweeeet flying plane! just a few clicks to level it out, and plenty of power, even at 19 pounds, to hover and pull out. It will never pull out like a 3D monster, but I was suprized at how well the DA50 pulled it around!

All in all, a great ARF, even if the "Quick Build" was a bit slow.. well worth the wait!

I decided in early February to upgrade the DA-50 to a 3W 55i-CS.. about 1 1/2 horses more (supposedly).

I sold the DA-50 and ordered the 3W on February 3.... been waiting ever since for the new one to show up. Well, it finally arrived and its all installed. Weight balanced out perfectly with everything mounted in the same place.

Tomorrow will be the re-maided, so we'll see how it goes... wish me luck!

Good luck! Let us know how it goes. I have been comtemplating this plane for the last month or so. What about a DA85 in this puppy? Think it would work?

Sure....... Yak about the plane but your missin' out on the fact that there's that good lookin' #8 Aeroworks gal in the picture!! I think Aeroworks is missing the boat by not putting autograph pics of all the girls in each kit! I'm thinking sales would go up a bunch!

I don't know that you'd be able to mount it easily, the exhaust would be a problem, and prop clearance would require you to go with a 3-blade solution.

I had the same idea with a Comp ARF 2x2 Extra, ordered the engine and the plane, and found out that it just wasn't practical.

The 85 would not be suitable for this plane, it would rip the wings off of it!!! So if it happens don't complain you have no one to blame but yourself. I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud just want to save you a headache.

I re-maidened mine today with a 3W 55i-CS.. supposedly has about 1 1/2 horses more than a DA-50. Still breaking it in, there is a noticable power increase! Great plane to fly.
