The Bay City Flyer's field was nailed by a tornado as a squall passed by around 5:30 am this morning in Land O lakes, Florida. This is a very sad day indeed.

The same thing happened to our field a couple years ago and we came out better than before. We now have a pavilion twice the size and a club that pulled together in the wake of distruction to become even closer and stronger. Your club may have a little work to do but if it turns out like what happened us it is for the better.
Look for the best in the worst and you wont be let down. |

Thanks guys,
The one that took out the jail is the same one. We are only about 1 mile east of there. There is already a planned clean-up for next weekend. Our club is around 300 members strong and we have a BOD that will be very aggressive in leading the rebuilding process. I am sure things will be back to normal in no time.

Monty, I'm sorry to hear about the damage to the field. I heard that a tornado had hit your area on the radio today.
I hope that no one was injured. The up side. As long as the runway is still intact, it still works as a flying site. The rest can be rebuilt.

Good luck to you guys up there in the Land oLakes from all of us down at Triple Creek.
If you need any help just give out a holler. Perhaps a rebuild/fun-fly is in order!
