heydick,
Yeah, 10 times the capacity, with A123 stability and C ratings, electron nirvana! I don't think we would even need new chargers since the chemistry and therefore presumably the peak voltage is the same.

Ahh. I think it will take something like this to kill glow good and dead. I can only imagine that more rapid advances things are coming for batteries in our lifetimes. Even if we solve our energy production problems we will still need a way to store energy. Lots of big companies will invest in battery technology and we modelers will surely benefit along the way.

More Watts!!!!! please

Amazing...simply amazing...just think of the wonders we haven't discovered yet. Yeah, it will take something like this new battery technology to revolutionized the hobby completely, glow will always be around, just in smaller quantities.

There are still some guys who fly control line, not because they can't afford R/C, but because they like control line flying.

The really awesome thing would be for the price to be at least HALF of what a good LiPo costs, then we'll be in a REVOLUTION!

What I really like is "10 times the amount of electricity of existing lithium-ion"!!!! just as long as it's not 10 times the price!

I currently fly a H9 Funtana X-100 on batteries and love how quite and responsive it flys!

This discovery could only make that experience even better!

While this technology is will be great for modellers I think it could be wonderful for electric cars. Most electric cars have a range of 50-100 miles. Multiply that by 10 and you have a useful vehicle for most everyone and not just short commuters.

If they do away w/ gas powered cars before I get that bugatti...
Then, I'm... ah, screw it! I will build a r/c helicopter w/ the new batt. tech. and fly myself around. Either that, or run for president!

Paffy,

Are you saying "There's no free lunch"?

I guess we will have to wait a while before before deciding if they are user friendly! Like Semtex!
