Need help with my build of the rex 600 nitro.

I have the swash plate even, at full collective pitch. Then at full down servo #3 doesn't travel down as much as #2, & #6 servos. I have the Jr 9303 trx. I triple checked the lengths of the connecting rods, they are all the same length... then I tried the sub trim, that didn't get it... So then I went into travel adjustments. I couldn't seem to get a single combo that would keep the swash even through the whole collective movement.

im blind the carbon galre is too much to handle hahaha,.. i wish i could pony up for one of those,, anyway,, might want to check the swash level for that servo ,, you may have to set the epa for it to go level,, i had the same issue on my belt cp,, but thats a hole nother bird haha, more experianced helis guys can comfirm.

I'm stell new to helis that I don't know what you mean by the epa. Are you saing that they should tell me a size of the connecting rod for that servo and the swah sould be level.

I don't know how other kits come, but it realy feels like they spared no exspence.

i was talking about end point adjustment for that channel,, it may be under the swash settings,, you do have a computer radio?? come on heli pros, where ya at!

That is pretty common with the ccpm setups. You need to mix what ever channel is not traveling the same with throttle on a curve. It usually takes 1 to 2% of mix to even the travel.

I've never had this problem on the CCPMS. You should be able to bottom out that swash as long as the servo itself isnt bottoming out IE you should have more than enough movement through the range of the servo to allow that to bottom out. Each movement should be =, and the only reason I could see this happening is either mechanical, or endpoint adjustments. My 9303 set up without any of these issues on Futaba servos.

Does the servo sound like its binding ? Is there a mechanical bind somewhere hanging up the servo ?

#3 is stopping early. When you disconnect the arm from the servo, will it continue freely through the range. And did you try changing the endpoint on channel 6 on the lower end to give you just that little extra drop.

Also on your swash mix on the setup, you can dial end your %'s on the beginning menu. Something might have been hit when doing this.... This is a tough one to Dx over the net. Lets keep trying if nothing else is working... We'll get it figured out. Im sure its a simple fix.

I think I figured it out guys, On #3 that servo horn is smaller than #2 and #6. Appearently I overlooked that.

Depending on the flying you are going to do, you might want to go with larger arms (as in heavier duty). Align also makes servo wheels that match the diameter of the aileron and elevator levers, which helps with your geometry. Also, use subtrim as a last resort to level servos. If you can set the arm on the servo perfect in relation to the spline, go through and match all the linkages so they are equal. Also, never move the EPA from 100% for the cyclic servos. This will give you uneven throw and travel speed.

Yes that would do it. Switch that servo horn out to the same size as the other servo horns. Then if you have made any travel adjustments put all 3 servos back to 100%, because you don't use the travel adjustments in helis the same way as you would an airplane. In helicopters you need to make all 3 servos travel and move equaly to each other witch would be done in the Swash Mix under the main menu. At half-throttle you need to make sure the servos are at 90 degrees strait up and down, sometimes you need to use sub trim to do that.You shouldn't need to much sub trim as long as you get the horn close as possible to center, sometimes you need to flip the servo horn to get it closer.. After you've used the sub trim(if any) don't go into it again unless you really need to because it might mess up the setup. Once you have gotten the 3 servos right at have throttle the swash plate should be level and middle of the main shaft. Normaly thats when the phase pins that go into the washout are even at the bottom of the wash out. After thats done and you and have all the ball links set to the right langth everthing should be level srtait across, washout arms,mixing arms and the flybar control arm/rod should be level and that will give you about 10 to 11+- blade pitch. If you want more pitch in the blades +14-14 or so like what most hard 3D guys use you then go to the swash mix in the radio and give the pitch more positive. The starting piont for the swash mix is AILE 60% ELEV 60% and PIT 60%. Most of the time your going to have either the elevator or ailrion backwards,you just change witchever one it is thats backwards to -60%.

cool, you found it.... I highly recommend the ALIGN arms, they are perfectly aligned to the linkages to give you 1:1 power. They way you have it set up right now, you will bottom out the swash on the mast when you go to about 80% deflection. You want to have 100% movement, that moves the swash all the way up to mast but has just a micro hair of space in between the mast and the swash bearing. You especially want this when you move your stick to the corners of the radio as this is where the most swash binding can occur. You want 100% travel in all directions of the servos without any chance of hitting the main mast.

PS, and I watched Ben out at our fun fly, he was outstanding, and works the crud out of those rotors. He didnt stop flying at all that whole day, and there was another kid out there too who went from Sun up to sun down all day long. When your flying with the Szabos, there's got to be some osmosis going on out there.
