Default Strange 50R throttle problem

Hi
Ive been flying with a DA50R in my EF Extra 300 since august.
From day one its been a fantastic engine, starts every time, ticks over perfectly and the pickup on the ground is fine. hits 7000rpm with a mejzlik 23x8 and CF tuned pipe.

Only problem ive had from the start is.
When im flying it in generally stalled attitudes, and i suddenly flip it from say upright to inverted, and ive had it when i snap from higher speed flight into a high alpha KE, the engine kinda coughs, or struggles to pick up. It doesnt last for long, but long enough for me to ***** myself when im doing low down stuff !!

the carb has been flipped over but i have a feeling from ones ive seen and in the image here
http://www.desertaircraft.com/images...lid_bottom.jpg

it must have been the other way out the box.

Any ideas?

i want confidence in my engine !!
ive tried the low end tuning but it seems to make no odds ???

Thanks!

I had the same thing with my DA in a AW 29% Katana. During flight, the engine would have a very noticeable lag going from level flight to high alpha knife edge.
I was running the same prop...Mej.23x8
I switched to a PT Models 23x8 and there was a big difference for the better. It spooled up better and also I didn't have that very noticeable lag transitioning into high alpha or 3D maneuvers.
Hope this helps.....

There have been a couple threads saying that when you flip the carb you shouldnt flip the black block that it is attached to, only the carb.

at any rate - call DA thats what they are there for! they will get you fixed up

A couple people called DA and they confirmed, the nipple on the block should always point toward the spark plug.

The block is where it should be in that case thanks for that.
I think i may have the problem sorted but ill find out at the weekend.

Changing fuel lines to be sure.

I have a feeling the choke and thhrottle was pinching the fuel line as i throttle up as it was in a rather strange place as it passed this area before getting attached to the nipple.
