i heard that you have to do some mods in order to get the throw you want for 3d is this easy to do? and as far as imac goes does it perform well in that area?

I have seen one do both IMAC and freestyle. It flys IMAC fairly well but if you are looking for the top notch IMAC performer this isn't it, not to say it isn't good at IMAC but from what I have seen the Krill Katana seems to excel at Freestyle over IMAC.
Overall it seems to be a great airplane, so go for it. Neil |

Evan,
have you seen some videos posted here on FG? Do you really think Gernot would be flying this plane if it wasn't flying well? Look how he did at TAS, European XFC,etc. Paul

if you search a 3m plane then this is top of the bill... gernot is winning everything with it ...
Also the european acro cup (Imac) and big freestyle cups... But not only gernot is flying it well... At EXFC it was almost katana everywhere, I was almost unique with my extra :-)

I have owned all the performers...Carden, 3W, Aeroworks....Krill is probably the best airplane I have clicked with...rolls are super axial, doesnt get bounced around in the wind, snaps are crisp, spins are straight and no tip stalling noted, mixes are next to nill. As you can tell, I am very happy with mine..with cannisters, DA, Li-manganese batteries, it came out 38lbs 14oz. Ideal for competition if you ask me, and doesnt suffer at all performing the Unlimited sequence in IMAC. Everybody has there own preference for a competitive aircraft - this one is mine. Joe |

no mods are necasarry for 3D...the only thing I had to do on my new Katana is lengthen the slots on the LE of the elevator to allow it to travel more....Gernot adds 8oz of dead weight on the tail for his 3d flights...thats all i know about as far as mods.
here is a build thread of mine...last page has the flight reports after 3 flights. http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...ld-finish.html Joe |

I agree with xtra330, The Krill is an excellent airplane, both IMAC and 3D. I have flown a couple different ones and they all flew excellent. Snaps were clean, tracked real well, and it cut through some really bumpy air better than anything else at one of our contests in the NE region this year. We were all getting slammed around and the Krill cut right through.

Evan,
I don't think their Yak 55 will be in US before second half of the year. They always look after European market first. BTW, Gernot has flown his Yak and loves it. Here is a little peak.... ![]() Paul

For me it's difficult to say since I haven't flown Yak.
So far only Mark L. and Gernot flew it,later one flew both.So unless you speak german and can contact Gernot to ask,it will be almost impossible to tell right now which one is better.Personally if you want to fly soon, get Katana. With Yak it's a waiting game.

I have about 30 flights on mine, still getting it dialed in. Everything 330 said was money only mod i had to do was open the slots on the elev just like what was mentioned, very simple task. With this plane it gets more fun to fly with every flight. Snaps are surperb, i really like the way it does rolling manuevers. two thumbs up for this plane, definately my favorite of the fleet!!
