Default Need help on a install of canisters for a BIG CAP

OK Guys now it's my turn for help. I've got a 45% CAP 232 from Aircract International and I can't figure out how to mount the canisters. The ZDZ 210 slides right into the mount, however the motor box is in the way down below. Do I cut the box?? and compermize the integrity of the motor box???. The hole opening is smaller then the canisters. I wish I knew how to attach the imiges to this thread and you guys could see my delima. Any way if anyone has a solution to this problem please feel free to post it so I can get this bird in the air for the JOE NALL. Thanks Allan

How about some spacers being machined for you, or something. drop the headers down an 1" or so, and they should drop the cans down to. Also might want to look at a header that has a taller bend. IE bigger radius making the distance increased, and dropping the headers below the engine box. The bottom line is you do want integrity on that motor box with that 210 swingin a big prop.

Toro, I appricate your reply. The picture shows the motor box covering the opening to the fuse. The problem is if you look at the fuse, there's not enough room to squeeze the canisters into the fuse without cutting the motor box. I have 2 lathe's and 2 mills with one CNC ready. I need to machine 4 standoffs to bring the engine out 1/2 of an inch to make the hub come out of the cowl at a proper distance. As for the distance of the headers, I've always been told the closer to the engine the better(Back pressure). The headders and the distance is not a problem. I really appricate your input and Thank you. Allan
