Default DA 100 Tach reading

Hi I got a tach reading the other day on my DA stock mufflers, Biela 27x10 prop of 5600 Rpms.
Is this Ok?? engine is running AMsoil Dominator 50:1 on 95 oct gas. Field elevation 1555 Ft temp 30celsius.

The RPM's might be a little low, but I'd be concerned about the Dominator oil. I've read some horror stories about that stuff gunking up an engine over time, apparently its designed for racing motors that are torn down more frequently. There's also an article in this month's AMA magazine about oil choices.

I don't want to start a "my oil's better than your's" discussion on your thread, but it did stick out when reading your question.

I know Biela props put a heavy load on the engine, but I dont know how much it will drop your rpm.

6685 RPM on mejzlik 27X10. ES tuned pipes, 91 pump gas, BelRay MC-1 at 50:1. Elevation about 2900 feet, 70°F. I'd drop that Biela like a bad habit, especially if it is a new engine.

DA 100 standard muffs Mejz 27/10 @ 6610...BME 110 standard muffs Biela 27/10 @ 6500..Both engines on MC-1 @ 50:1..2400 ft..I would say there's something wrong with your carb settings, engine or both..The DA should swing that prop well into the 6s

DA 100 with std muffs 28/10 menz 6100 rpm Bel Ray MC-1 50to1. You should be in the mid 6000 rpm range.

Well broken in DA-100 running MTW cans swinging a PT 27X10 C/F prop at 6450 rpm. Using Redline racing oil 40:1. Your engine seems to be running a little low on the rpm's, I'd call DA and ask them for some advice.

Well my friends, I sent an email to DA this morning and this is what they answer me thumbs up for their cust support!!!!:

The number doesn't sound too far off for that prop. The Biela props
have a very
heavy load to them. If you switch to a Menz or Mejzlik your number will jump
up. You can continue using Amsoil Dominator as your oil if you like. I
usually recommend Amsoil Saber Professional at 100:1 or Redline Racing Oil at
40:1.

Thanks,
Jeff

Well 6800 must be with a very good exhaust system.
Mine spins the Mejzlik 28x10 at 6840 on Bel-Ray H1R 40-1 with ATM-80 tuned pipes. This is a hot reading after a flight. Power is awesome.
