What size battery would you use on the RX. Also... Lith or NiMh? I'm just going to put a 2000 NiMh 4.8 on the Ignition. Every one says the engine likes 4.8 better.

Alright guys, I got the engine box epoxied, painted, and rock painted. Also I managed to get the engine mounted .

What is the distance from your carb to the firewall?

Did you use locktite on almost everything?

It's about an inch assume, it's enough for the engine to breath i think.

The SD-Moldes EXTRA 260 canopy was already installed too. Te took some doing but I managed to get my RedAeroRC.com helmet head installed - complete with servo !

Make a template of the torso "footprint" - cut out and transfer to the underside of the cockpit decking. From there...

Thanks Jaguar, But fortunately the canopy came un-attached . I'm going to order the cheapest helmet pilot figure I can. But do you have any idea where I can find a cool pannel? Maby I could just print one off?

You would probably want the 33%er in that cockpit. Here is a picture of a H9 Extra with the 33% helmet head. Buy em unpainted @ $34.00 (I can give you some hints on getting a great looking painted finish) or ready to install at $49.00.

Or My 2 favs for "cheapest POS" I have seen on FG since I started hanging around here, is the Foam Heads!
You could find his build thread and give it a go.
As far as a dash panel goes, - just Google using "images" selection for Extra 300 instrument panel (and similar words) and use a picture or here are templates to make a layout on a balsa frame.

Yep same plane. Unfortunatly, it did not come with wingbags. I was sure AK-Models said it did come with wing bags. They must of changed it after I bought it ... You will love the plane though, Awesomly build, I couldn't find a bubble on the airplane at all. Great hardware, and it's an overall great buy.

AK-Models.com has them but they are out of stock. AK-Models is where I orderd mine and it's cheaper. Like $415 vs 450 plus shipping. I paid no shipping what so ever.

That might be a little difficult to order them from PAU since they are out of stock and won't be stocking them again. So, it looks like the only place to get them(if they have them in stock is TBM). Perhaps if TBM is notified of the price difference, they will deal?

So you ordered from Ak models. I just saw the web site and they have them on stock.

I will order one from AK models. TBM has them out of stock, and there's 200 diference in price just because of the wing-fuse bags right?

Ak-models showed two in stock yesterday. Low stock probably means 1 in stock. Better order quickly!
