Hi eveyone,
I have an Airtronics Stylus with advanced feature cards. It is an excellent radio with tons of features. I don't feel that I need any other radio but I see a lot of 10X radios out there and I feel like I need to have one. Honestly except for 2 extra channels and being touch screen, I don't see why 10X is better than Stylus! Airtronics is local to me also which is a big advantage. Now here's my question: Tell me why I need to get a JR 10X and convince me. I will buy one once I know why I need a 10X. I don't fly jets only Giant Scale and 3D stuff. By the way, my stylus does have some advantages over the 10X for example I can assign anything to any switch that I want unlike 10X that Elev switch is in a fixed postion. This thread is not meant to turn down any products, I want to find a solid reason to make this change from Stylus to 10X happen. Thanks guys

If you are happy with your stylus, then why do you need a reason to switch? You don't need to get a 10x but it seems like you want to.

Albert,
You are right, I am looking for a reason to buy one. If I don't find any reason then I would have to put a stop on myself.

Digital Trims would be my main reason.

Stylus does have digital trims meaning that you trim your plane and then it would hold it in memory as long as your trim lever stays in center. So basically it's analog on the lever but digital inside.

I have both a 10X and a Stylus so I have programmed both. The BIG advantage is the touchscreen display, especially when setting up mixes. With the 10X you can graphically see what your setting up. IMHO, the Stylus is a great radio, but the 10X is better.
You may also want to look at the 9303. Almost as good as the 10X for less than 1/2 the price. |

REZA... I am the worst guy ever to give this advice, because I fall into this all the time..
But .... Don't fall into the "Grass is Greener" method of thinking... If your Stylus radio is working for you Stick with it. Also consider haw many recievers you have and how much time you hive into trimming your planes out. As I said earlier, I'm not the guy to give this advice, I fall into this ALL the TIME. BUT I managed to stick with my radio, and have been happy. I too wonder and eyeball both the 10X and the 14mz... but i still just use my trusty 9CHP. On a whole different tip... I don't think this would be the year to snag a new radio if you really didn't need one. I think JR and Futaba have some seriuosly cool stuff comming in a year or so... that will make you wish you waited! my $.02

I agree. I had a Futaba 9C, and it got stolen. I upgraded to the 14 MZ, otherwise, I would have been just happy with that I had because IT WORKED!

Thanks guys. It has been eating up my mind. You have a point on the receivers too because I have 5 pcm receiver that I won't be able to use if I change the radio. It's been a great radio, really easy to program and full of functions. It doesn't show the curves on the screen like Futaba and Jr but I have the feel for what I'm doing. Thanks again guys.
