Was out looking for hangar space today for my cub, visited several small airports in the area and saw the neatest thing ever. For guys that aren't involved in full scale, when it comes to hangar's you have a type called a community hangar. Bascially a big hangar with a bunch of airplanes in it. These can be a pain, because you have to move several airplanes to be able to get yours out. Well today I came across something called a "round about". Basically its the same concept as what they use in San Fransisco to turn the trolly's around.
The one hangar had two very large circular platforms which the airplanes were parked on. By moving a lever on the wall your able to rotate the entire platform and move your airplane to the front by the hangar door. Neatest thing I've ever seen. I guess these are popular over in Europe, the gentleman who had it installed was from Sweden. Also, lots of cool airplanes at this airport. Can anyone figure out what they are by the pics of the tails? |

In the second picture, is the plane on the left a DA20 or a DA40?

Stol CH-701 or the 801, German made.
Never mind, the center section of the wing isn't right, and the 701 has a full flying rudder. Last edited by Boulder; 03-09-2006 at 08:25 PM. |
