I made a sub floor for the landing gear wire to lay against with a hardwood block epoxied on the bottom of the plate for the bent end to lock into, 1/4 inch hole. I eliminated all the extra wood on the forward section of this plate. This plate will epoxy in the tail area with triangle stock on the rear of F8 and the front of the tailpost 1/4 inch lower than the cover plate. I didn't want the strap screws attaching to the stringers so I made a cover plate slotted for the gear to recess into and allow the strap screws to attach to plywood and give the stringers a place to set into the plate. The rear of the stringers will epoxy to this unit. I don't think this will bust loose. I lightened it up about the most I can to avoid extra tail weight.

Walt, Ryan, looks great. I just finished a Dalton 300 with a Greves pipe set-up with only a support in the rear of the airplane, so far so good. What if any failures have you heard of doing it this way? Also in the middle of a MEL Dalton 300 that will also have a set of Greeves.

Hi Steve: I have heard "rumors" that some have split the teflon coupler with only one support. What I have noticed is that with the one support towards the rear I can easily move the flex section of the header from side to side. I can't say this would be an issue but just for the warm fuzzy feeling I do 2 supports. It could be a waist of time and add a couple ounces but its what I have been doing and so far no problems..BTW, have you got any pictures of the stinger outlet on your 300? Thanks Walt

Ryan,
Are you going to use a pull pull with cable or mount the rudder servos in the rear fuse??

Gary, I'm planning on a push-pull. Servos mounted in the rear of the fuse.

This is a great build thread, lots of pics, and very detailed. I would love to see a how you set the incidences when you get there. I am planning on trying to build for the first time, and that is one part that seems complicated (or just makes things really bad if you don't get it right).
