Default 2008 South Central Judging/Boot Camp

The 2008 SC Judging/ Boot Camp will be Feb. 23-24 at Russell Hall. This is the same location as last year. This is highly recommended school to attend. The more qualified judges we can have at our events. Then more likely the event can run smoother. We do have a shortage of qualified judges in our area. I would like to get the pilot to judge ratio up some from the past few years.

Fee is $30 for IMAC members $50 for non members. This includes membership to IMAC. If you don't already have the F&J Guide one will be supplied. Please email me at rkbyrd@sbcglobal.net to get an accurate of books needed. Please bring you F&J guide to the event. I will check last years list of pilots that made it and if you were on it. I will assume you still have your book.

Pre-register at http://www.letsflyrc.com/imac/CONTESTS.asp

Registration starts at 8:00 and class starts at 9:00 on Saturday lasting all day. We will break for lunch. Sunday morning at Thunderbird field will include in flight demostration followed by the Boot camp.

The Boot Camp will be for Basic and Sportsman pilots only. Please bring your planes ready to fly. The boot camp will help the new pilot that hasn't been to a contest, become familar with contest structure. Also if anyone would like help on plane setup or on the sequnces. Experienced pilots will be on hand to help. This will last until around noon or so.

The address to Russell Hall is 5708 JACKSBORO HWY, SANSOM PARK, 76114.

The Judging School is coming up fast. Eddie and I just returned from the National Judging School in Florida and can't wait to pass on the info that we learned. We learned a lot. So come on out. I'll have a schedule posted in the next few days.

There are many places to eat around there.

Also, I'm looking to have a demostration Sat. evening on airplane set up and stuff like that. Time will tell. If not Saturaday it can move into Sunday morning.

Sounds cool, well I better get to practice. Will each contest be flying a sequence? What expert pilots are going to be there

Each contest you go to flies the sequence for 4 rounds or more. Flying the sequence twice per flight.

Expert Pilots that will be there. Dan Baker has flown at the Don Lowe Masters. Ryan Gonsoulin the Advanced National Champ might be there, he may be picking up his new ride. John Durant designer of the Direct Drive system and myself TOC/Don Lowe Masters Pilot.

Hey Rick and guys: I've seen Dan Baker fly and he is good - he will give you SC unlimited guys a run for your money. I met him at a contest in Memphis several years ago - he is really a nice guy. helped me quite a bit (as do most IMACers do).

Well
Should be a good judging school, getting things together and ready for Saturday. Hope to see most all of you there and happy to see some new faces and names. As Rick said we picked up alot of new material that we are going to pass along and hopefully be more consistent this year.
