Hey snap

How does she fly? Did you have to compensate for any coupling in the radio?

The plane is a great 3D flier, similar to the Hanger 9 Ultimate but much prettier, as for compensating for coupling, at low rudder inputs it's fine but the more throw you add, compensation will be needed, rudder is very effective, I don't fly IMAC but everyone that flew the Pitts has said that it is one of the best IMAC airplanes out there all you have to do is see what's QQ's favorite airplane is.

Elie,

Thanks for the feedback...........I've got both a 200 and 240 "idling" on the shelf, so their cost isn't a factor, but I am definitely concerned about the added weight.

By the way, your vid links are so freakin' funny I can't stop laughing, especailly when the bottle rockets are flyin' all over the place!

In that case the 200 should work for you however normally the plane tend to come out nose heavy even with a 150 and with the added weight of the 200, it is going to be really nose heavy just a heads up when you build it.
As for the videos, thanks, those are the Huckfest videos.

I bought a "short kit" (lazered parts, ribs, etc.) from Trueworthy 2 1/2 yrs ago, did some framing on the fuse then got busy with my IMAC planes and let it sit until this last January. I hurt my back and couldn't work for a while so I got busy on it again. I have the fuse ready for covering and the wings are almost finished.

I think the term "plenty of power" is always relative and it depends on who you ask. As an IMAC flyer and previously owning a 3.3 yak w/ a ZDZ210 on tuned pipes and weighing 47 lbs, I did NOT have enough power. The Pitts will have even more drag having two wings. I wouldn't consider less than 200 cc's "unless".....it was a "just for fun" plane. Nose heavy is usually NOT a problem. It's amazing how a pound of batteries in the back can balance out a nose heavy plane.

My ZDZ210 is only 1 1/2 lbs heavier than a 150. In the back of the plane, that's only about 6 oz. of battery (or something) to balance that # out. I'm running PEFA canisters which throws a little more weight to the back to. Also, servos all go in the back and instead of "dead weight" you can always double up on servos for the added power and security.

After several IMAC "kits", this has been a VERY fulfulling build. I just love making sawdust!

Ron

Hi MM,
I saw your post and e-mailed CH Models over in China. I got an E-mail back from a fellow by the name of Chang Hang Li. Nice guy....

The 50 cc Model 12 which is available in three color schemes is $238.00 for the kit plus $150.00 shipping making the total $388.00. Don't know if there is customs fees tacked on this or not but I'm guessing the government wants their share of the pie too!

The 100-150cc Model 12 in the yellow/blue color scheme is $514.00 plus the $150.00 shipping making the total $664.00. Both sizes appear to be laser cut and look to be really light weight. (The airframe only of the 100-150cc Pitts is listed at 17 pounds.) The top wing is 92.5 inches and the length is just a tad under 81 inches.

There are some other sized sport planes in their inventory as well. Chang is working on getting some video of both size Model 12's. There is not a distributor as of yet here in the States. I'll keep ya posted if there is any new developments.

Just found out this is shipped to your door using either DHL or some outfit I've never heard of. The wing looks to be thicker than a QQ with smaller elevators and rudder. (Not by much.) It looks like swiss cheese due to all the lightening holes. They also have an accessory they sell attached to the cowls. It is a stamped aluminum set of functional louvers. I'd like to have a set of these on some of my planes that tend to get warm when they run!

Scott,
Here ya go.

****** This is the link for the 50 cc Model 12. Hit 'home" or "planes" when you get to this one and you'll see all their planes. Then you can select the yellow/blue "Big Pitts."

Cool...I've thought about building one and making it lighter like Bob did his 260 and we are doing to my yak, I think a bipe that size @ 35 lbs would be awesome. I love bipes and everyone around here always talks me out of them, but I will have another one some day. Thanks Elie....

Thanks for the info

That's not a bad price at all for a 50cc Python. I may look into getting on sometime.
