Default SIM Card for phone?

I have an AT&T RAZOR sitting here without a sim card.

Is it possible to get a new sim card and have it activated with my old number?

thanks!

They don't use sim cards anymore. Most have slots for SD (storage device) cards. The slots in the razors are for sd cards for storing numbers, ringtones, pic, etc. They have nothing to do with the function of your phone. The only way to activate it is to go to your local service center and they will activate it and deactivate your old one or you'll have to pay for an added line to keep both active.

All my ATT phones use the same sim cards and I have cards from two other coutries with local numbers that I use when I'm there. You should be able to get a sim card some where. Try ATT first and see what they say.

Wrong, I manage the wireless for my company through AT&T and every phone AT&T sells, uses a SIM card. I can't speak for the iPhone, but if you have a razr and it was through AT&T, it uses a sim card, along with all there other phones. Just hit an AT&T store and have it reactivated. The SD he's referring to is additional storage for files, that has nothing to do with the phones activation. I believe T-Mobile is another provider whose phones use a Sim card, you could take it there and have it activated as well. Phones with SIM cards are not locked into one provider like say Verizon.

If you have a current AT&T contract, you can get a replacement SIM card though AT&T for a small fee if not for free. If your old number was with a different carrier, AT&T will not just asign you a SIM to work on thier network. Now if your old number was with a different GSM carrier, (US Cellular, T-Mobile), and you get a replacement SIM from them, you still may not be able to use their SIM in an AT&T phone even though they are all GSM and use SIM cards. Some phones are locked via the software to a particular carrier.

The carrier is AT&T.
So it looks like I just need to go to an AT&T store and buy a new sim card for the phone and they can activate it and I will have my old number(AT&T)\

Thanks everyone.

You will see it if you remove the cover where the battery is.
