Great chart!!!! Makes a sim decision HARDER now!!! I'm narrowed down to RF, AFPD, and FS 1. Looking for something good I can just plug and play with on my 10X.

I've all ways found afpd to be the best all around. the realflight series has great visuals, but from a standpoint of physics, you can get a more realistic flight out of fms... fs one is pretty good, but the limited upgradability is a definate setback..... overall go with afpd, and you wont regret it.

Good job on that chart!

BTW you should update it a bit - Reflex XTR has online multiplayer now, and the plane physics has been improved.

Cyber...wow, hats off to you. That is a ton of research. The chart is great! I wish there was a clear winner. Each has the same number of pros and cons, so the real challenge is to actually try them all at the store, then decide.

Thank you for thinking of all of us with this post. Definitely good food for thought.

I ended up buying RF G 4.5...I tried Phoenix, FS One and Real Flight. I just liked the intense graphics with Real Flight...oh, and the controller is very easy to use, etc...

Hey Cybert99, you did us all a great favor! Thanks! One questions, I am wanting to switch to mac and my rf wont work with the mac os. I can use bootcamp and run windows to use it but was wondering which of these that work on mac. Any info? I was told at my lhs the other day that phoenix does...

Same here: brand new shiney Mac. Love my RF 3.5 , but have heard that "bootcamp" will make my Mac succeptible to Windows-viruses. Any ideas?

Old AFPD was good, but Realflight was better. I've now got Aeroflight 5 on a Mac Mini hooked to a 57" TV through an HDMi cable. Bad ass. I'll never go back. Hands down the best sim I have seen, plus it's on a Mac. And we all know that any computer that's not a Mac is simply an electronic device that causes headaches, premature balding, and delusions that it's just as good.
