Default longshot... anyone have a number or contact info for dell ?

I know this may be a long-shot but... Anyone have a contact number for dell ?

Back before Christmas I purchased a 2000.00 + XPS system from them to replace my home PC which will be used on my CNC router. Three days later the FedEx man drops of the boxes here at my shop.. sweet

Turns up the monitor is bad.. I contact dell and they said they would take care of the problem and the replacement is on its way. 1.5 weeks later no replacement. I have spent several hours on the phone trying to get this solved with no luck.
Yesterday I called and the replacement monitor is out of stock with no in stock date.. after 4 calls back and forth they agreed to upgrade me to something in stock. I told them I wanted it overnight because this was costing me money by the hour. I get on line and my replacement is estimated to ship the end of next week

I'm looking for a corporate office number or even better a E mail/phone number for Mr dell him self. #1 i need this resolved and #2 I need to find out where to send my invoice for the hours of my time they have wasted..

Anything other than a customer service number.. I have been very cheery and friendly with everyone I have came in contact with.. In my opinion its not that persona fault but my patience is running very thin...

When you call support, just keep asking to talk to that persons superior. You'll eventually talk to someone who can do something about it.

What number have you been calling? Maybe I can find a usable one in this list of Dell numbers I have.

Unless you are a VP of a a fortune 100 company with a multi million dollar contract with Dell, you will not be speaking to Michael Dell.

Dell is not going to reimburse you for your time lost. If they did that, they would owe billions to their customers.

I know that... a little sarcasm always helps.

Interesting point about the warehousing system.. im sure its very complex. However im also 110% sure there is someone there with a pulse that can pick my monitor up, install a UPS/Fedex label and get it headed my way..

Im giving them till Friday to get this resolved,if not they can pick it up from my home ( broke monitor included).. I haven't cut the check yet so the balls in my court. I spent two more hours on the phone this morning and was promised a return call in one hour from some gal who barely spoke English in there wonderful customer care center in Baghdad, or was it Tiajuana ??... That was 4 hours ago.. Does anyone care anymore ?..

I give up..

I ordered a new Dell about two months ago. FedEx did they best to destroy it and even bent the case. I used the "chat" support function and got it resolved. I was also told 3 or 4 days to get the replacement system, and it was more like 2 weeks until I got it. Luckily, the crunched system that came in the first box, actually worked, and I used that until the new one came in. Instead of deleting all my stuff off the one I was returning, I formatted the drive and sent it back blank. Their inventory system is horrible. They had no idea whether I shipped the old unit back as I took my sweet time in doing so. Then I finally got a letter asking if I shipped it back. I probably could have kept both and they would have never found it. Definetly a gap between warehousing and customer service, not to mention inventory control when it comes to replacement systems. The service person even admitted to me that they have a very difficult time tracking things that they set up to re-issue or resend as well as incoming returns. Me, being a moral person, did send the old system back though. Dont get me wrong, I had good service from Dell and have bought about a dozen computers from them, i was just over promised and underdelivered on the replacement time. I had ordered two systems at once, the one that came via DHL took longer, but it was in good shape. The one that came fedex looked like it had been used as a loading dock bumper!

It helps if you pay these transactions by credit card, then contest the billing, with your credit card company.

At the least, you will usually wind up with some concessions from the vendor.

Dell's support has sucked over the last few years. The only premade computer I buy is from apple and their service is pretty good, plus they have a retail store that will exchange anything you buy from their web site.
