John,
I AM, I AM!!! This plane assembles so quickly that I ran out of things to do until I can get my hands on the DA, servos, regs, leads, spinner, switches, batts, prop, etc. etc.... Remember, I am just building up my hangar. I do not have the luxury of owning an entire AIRFORCE that I can beg borrow and steal parts from at will!!! ![]() ![]() If you got some spares laying around, I will come over and pick em' up so we can fly on Saturday!! ![]() ![]() Astro |

A couple of months ago, we had a mis-hap with my 36% Edge while filming a video with Ken and John: someone turned on his transmitter, and we went into failsafe, crashing in the tall weeds.
This accident broke the cowl and exhaust pipe. I have just replaced both, and this time I use the DA-100 compact mufflers: this is a much cleaner installation, as this time I did not have to cut any hole at the bottom for the cowl for the muffler. Looks much nicer! |

Hi everyone,
We now have the standoff mount for the DA-85. Total weight comes in right about 3oz. Also includes the mounting bolts for those that are interested. Ken |

Does anyone have any feedback on using this plane for IMAC? I love this plane but have been told that the 540 Edge (in general, not this particular airframe) is not really the plane for precision aerobatics. I currently fly a Extra 260 but would love to try this one out. I haven't seen any plane that has caught me attention like this one. What say ye?
Also, do you think there would be a benefit to any particular airframe/engine combination (DA-85 vs. DA-100) for IMAC? Shawn |

Here is the short answer flying my PAU Edge......It flies more like a Extra 260 than an Edge. By that I mean that there are typically some tendencies of most Edge's that make it less than ideal for IMAC. The PAU Edges that I have flown (mine and the prototype) don't exhibit any of those tendencies. Some of the typically comments from pilots about Edges for IMAC are that they don't stall well and don't snap well. The PAU does not seem to have an issue with either of these. I will be flying my PAU Edge in an IMAC in Idaho this month. David |

You can't go wrong with either DA that's for sure. We run both motors in our Edges with great success. The DA-85 puts out a great deal of power and puts the weight in the 23 to 24 pound range. For an airframe this size and at that weight makes for a absolutely insanely fun plane. The DA-100 gets the job done and then some. The 100 would be my first choice for IMAC although the DA-85 would work just as well. With both motors setup stock, I feel the 100 pulls better and the extra weight helps the aircraft track a little better on windy days. Ken |

Just ordered Mine today, can't wait to get this plane in the air.
I'm going with the new DA-100, Compact Mufflers, 5955's ail, elevator, 8711 Rudder.

I just competed with mine this weekend and she drew many nice comments about the way it flew and the great color scheme. I could'nt be happier with my choice.

Ken-----
Thank you very much. I just got back from a trip to Washington and stopped by the PAU hangar. Lots of cool things going on there and plans for the future! Ken also handed me the controls of his 36% Edge 540 on the DA85. The plane was a joy to fly. I tried my hand at some light 3-D at about 5000ft since it wasn't my plane. It looked awful because I suck at it but the altitude hid it well. I then put the plane through some IMAC type sequences mixing up the Sportsman and Intermediate. Ken likes 300% throws so we had to tame it down for me but once I got the ailerons where I liked em it was joy to fly. Landings were way to simple.........chop the throttle and the plane floated in like a cub and landed in like a 5ft roll out. It was just toooooooo simple. Of course Ken tried to break the canopy before I got there so I couldn't fly like when he broke the wingtube on his 43% so I couldn't fly that......but somehow I still mangaged to get some flights in. Astrohog was out there as well but had a few motor problems so I didn't get a chance to fly his plane (I think he faked the problems so I couldn't fly his plane!). Looking forward to more flying time with you guys once I move up there in July. Do not be on the fence with this plane..........jump right in, its badass

Thanks Rob!
I am very happy your enjoying it and glad to see it back in competition. Sam, It was great having you up here. I am very sorry we did not get to spend more time together but I am sure that will change. Next time I'll try very hard not to break my stuff to keep you from flying it. j/k Anytime Sam!Ken |
