use a little soapy water on the surface and on the adhesive side of the decal...lets you move it some if need be and drys when done..ive also used windex window cleaner....soapy water is what we use to put the vinyl decals on the race car.

How long is the pipe tunnel? Is there any chance in getting tuned pipes in one of these? I was thinking some EScomposite pipes would quite things down without as much weight penalty.

to use a full length pipe you will ahve to do some mods to the plane. You would have to cut out the back of the tunnel(where it ends) and then build yourself a mount for the pipes. You may have to move the rudder tray up.

The decals that come with the plane are easy to put on......I installed them dry----line up exactly where you want them--peel the backing off--carefully & straightly lay them on--smooth them with a plastic scraper or credit card and then slowly remove the holding paper.

The harder to apply decals, like the DA logo, I used a mild spray of soapy water and used my heat gun to dry off some of the water while removing the holding paper, once I was satisfied that it was in the right position.

The Decals with our kits are some of the best I have ever applied.....I would like to know where they were done?......If you at all nervous about applying them use the mild soapy water method and you can move them if you need to----I have a few more surprise decals as my build progresses

PAU is not a distributor for any graphics company, and we purchase all the graphics we use, but we have been happy with the works we get from Aerograhix.

Whats the coupling like on the edge? Does it require mixing? Are there any issues with the 85's shaking these thing to much?

Ken, I,m considering a DA 85 with pitts muffler for a lighter plane, and lower budget. Are you running a pitts muffler, and if so which one? I like to keep my builds simple and light. Also what prop are you using? While I haven,t committed to the 85 yet, it seems to be less expense than a DA 100 on cans. Also considering the DL-100 with stock mufflers. Anyone tried this combo yet?

I have not tried a DL100 in this plane yet, but I will be putting one in. Not sure if I will go with stock mufflers or cans yet, I do have both available. I have a DL100 in an H9 Extra 330L 33% right now with the stock mufflers and I am very impressed with it, thus one is going in this plane as well. There are others that had problems with the stock DL mufflers that come with the motor, but so far I have not. I also have a pair of DA100 stock mufflers if needed.

The DA-85 in this plane is a really good choice. I am using a Slim-line pitts muffler on mine. At 24lbs the wing loading is incredibly light and that 85 puts out a ton of power on a PAU 27 3db prop. The 85 does shake a bit just like any big single but its not too bad. The wheel pants will vibrate the most so it would be a good idea to add the supports for them mentioned on the manual section of the web site. Also with the pitts muffler it’s pretty noisy. It’s not bad while flying 3d with good throttle management but you can tell when it’s opened up. You can see is this photo where the exhaust exits the cowl.
